7. Summary of Purpose and Methodology

Please state briefly your research question, aims of study, hypotheses, methodological design.
1. Research question: 1) Is there a relationship between parental attachment style and romantic
relationships?
2. Aim of study: To investigate whether there is a relationship between Parental attachment style
and the presents of anxiety in attachment in recent or current romantic
relationships of participants.

8. Source of Participants
Describe (a) source and number; (b) method of recruitment and selection; (c) expected ages, gender,
ethnicities and any special characteristics; (d) compensation (if any); and (e) the investigators
relationship to participants (address any conflict of interest here).
a) HELP University students, 30 participants
b) Random sampling.
c) Participants are of 18-25 years of age, should be English literates, male or female, from any ethnic
group.
d) No compensations will be given to participants.
e) Participants will be made up of same college mates of investigators hence there could be conflict of
interest. However professionalism will be maintained during the experiment.

9. Research Procedures
Outline the specific procedures or activities involving the participants. Exactly what will be done, to
whom, by whom, how, where, how often and for how long, etc.?
All participants are HELP University students. Participants will be recruited randomly. Participants will
be given a questionnaire created for this study. They will be given a consent form and be briefed about the
questionnaire. After giving the consent, participants will fill up their demographic information. Then they
will fill up the scales that are used to measure (a) Parent child attachment style and (b) Romantic
relationship anxiety/avoidance questionnaire. It will take about 20 minutes to fill up the questionnaire.
10. Ethical Training of Additional Research Staff
