For the optimal production of sperm cells the temperature must be lower
than 37 degrees. (compared to the rest of the body).

A woman has a period beginning at the 14 th of March. She has sexual


intercourse at the 26th of March.
a. When will she have her next period? 28 days later, so 14th + 28 days =
11th of April
b. When will she have her ovulation? 14 days later, so 14th + 14 days =
28th of March
c. Can she be fertilised when sexual intercourse happened at the 26 th of
March? Yes because sperm cells stay alive for 3 days in the
oviduct, so they can fertilise an egg cell which is released at the
28th of March.
