Dengue Cases
Findings:
A total of 436 dengue cases were reported from January 1 to April 18, 2015 from different reporting units
in the province. This is 25% higher compared to the same period last year. Concepcion had the highest
prevalence rate followed by Mayantoc and Bamban (Table 2). Ages ranged from 2 months old to 85 years
old(median of 18).Thirtyfour percent of the cases belonged to 11 to 20 years old (Fig.3). Majority of the cases
were males (52%).No reported deaths. Clustering of cases are in listed in Table 4.
.

Recommendation:
The community should adhere to the DOHs four S:
Search and Destroy
Place a tight lid on containers used for water storage.
Always clean all gutter.
Prevent mosquito breeding in car tires.
Seek immediate consultation
If a family member has a fever of 2 days duration, consult your physician or visit the nearest health
center.
Say No to indiscriminate fogging
Self-protection measures
Screen door and windows.
Use insect repellents.
Wear long sleeves shirts, long pants nd socks to avoid bites of mosquitoes .
