1. Read the text about Toms house and family.
This week my father is painting our house. Our
house is usually cleaner than it is at the moment.
My father is also doing some work in our living
room. My mother often tells my dad that she wants
a nicer house and easier to clean. Im helping my
dad with the work. Were also buying some new
things like a new plasma TV and mums buying a
new computer for me.
Uncle Ray is working on the project, too. Hes a
plumber, so he is making the new central heating
system. Dads brother, Jim, is an electrician. Hes
doing all the electrical work. He is also installing the
new computer terminal in my bedroom. Its really
cool!
My mum is trying to decide the colours she wants for every room. I like blue, but she
doesnt. She never listens to what I say, but she always listens to my sister. My sisters
bedroom is next to mine. She uses my computer. I hate it when she comes into my
room without asking. I have a sign on the door which says DO NOT ENTER, but she
still comes into my room all the time.
