Invitation to Support

Exhibition Brochure
International interaction among a myriad of scientific disciplines
is essential to better understand spoken language processing and
advance its technologies.

INVITATION TO SUPPORT
The 17th annual Interspeech Conference will be held September 8 12, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in San Francisco,
USA. It is being hosted by the International Computer Science Institute (ICSI) under the sponsorship of the International
Speech Communication Association, ISCA.
The Bay Area has long been an international focal point for technology development, with Silicon Valley and its two
great universities in the neighborhood. As speech processing becomes a part of the computing mainstream, it has an
even more central role in developments at the Bay Areas many related companies, large and small.
In 1989 in Paris, the first EUROSPEECH bi-annual meeting on spoken language processing was organized. It was alternated
with ICSLP, its non-European counterpart. In 2004 these events were merged into an annual Interspeech conference,
designed to advance language processing and speech technology. The stature of the conference has grown in importance
each year as the field has matured and it is now the worlds largest and most comprehensive technical conference focused
on speech and language processing and its applications. We anticipate over 1300 of the leading names within the
international speech community will attend Interspeech 2016, including promising young researchers, representatives of
community associations and members of the corporate sector.

QUICK FACTS
Interspeech is the worlds largest and most comprehensive technical conference focused on speech and language
processing and its applications
The conference will feature world-class speakers, tutorials, exhibits, satellite sessions and over 80 lecture and
poster sessions.
Interspeech conferences include papers on all the scientific and technological aspects of speech and language
processing.
Satellite workshops and exhibits from industrial and academic sponsors highly enrich the conferences content.
Interspeech papers are indexed in ISI, Engineering Index, Scopus, and Google Scholar. Interspeech is rated as a
Rank A conference by the Computing and Research Education Association of Australasia (CORE).

WHO ATTENDS
The field of spoken language processing is inherently interdisciplinary, and is comprised of diverse academic areas ranging
from psychology, linguistics, and education to engineering, physics and medicine.
