Đại từ chỉ Đại từ sở hữu Tính từ sở hữu Đại từ tân ngữ Đại từ phản thân và nhấn mạnh

I. Chức năng của đại từ chỉ ngôi
a. Làm chủ ngữ trong câu
I saw Bill
b. Là từ đứng trước của đại từ quan hệ làm chủ ngữ
It was I who did it
It was he who helped me
c.Đứng sau it is (was) hoặc that is (was)
Who is it ? It’s I
Tuy nhiên trường hợp này trong khẩu ngữ người ta thường dùng tân ngữ
Who is it ? It is me
II. Chức năng của tính từ sở hữu
Chỉ quyền sở hữu của các ngôi , hợp số với người hoặc vật có quyền sở hữu , và hợp giống với ngôi thứ ba số ít
Tính từ sở hữu không thay đổi theo số và giống của vật được sở hữu. Nó luôn đứng trước danh từ

III. Chức năng của đại từ sở hữu
a. Đại từ sở hữu dùng một mình, không có danh từ đi kèm
This is my book = This book is mine
b. Đại từ sở hữu không thay đổi theo số của vật sở hữu
That pen is yours
Those pens are yours
c. Sở hữu kép
of mine = one / some of mine + N
Of ours = one/ some of our + N
Is he a friend of your ? Is he one of your friends ?
d. Đại từ sở hữu dùng trong công thức ở cuối thư
Yours
Yours faithully
Yours truly
Yours sincerely
IV. Đại từ tân ngữ
a. Làm tân ngữ cho động từ
I saw him
b. Đứng sau giới từ : with me , for you
To him , I am nothing
V. Chức năng của đại từ phản thân và nhấn mạnh
1. Cách dùng phản thân
a. Để chỉ một hành động quay trở lại chính chủ ngữ của câu chứ không tới một người
hoặc vật khác
b. Đại từ phản thân đứng sau một động từ hoặc một giới từ
He can’t bathe himself
Romeo and Juliet killed themselves
2. Cách dùng nhấn mạnh
a. Nhấn mạnh chủ ngữ
Để nhấn mạnh có thể đứng liền sau chủ ngữ hoặc cuối câu
I myself did it = I did it myself
She herself told me the news
 b. Nhấn mạnh tân ngữ
Đại từ nhấn mạnh đứng sau tân ngữ
I want to see the letter itself, not the copy
