Armed with a sack of harmonicas, a mess of foot percussion and a road - worn Telecaster, Shawn
The Harpoonist Hall and Matthew The Axe Murderer Rogers kick out raw and primal blues, while
electrifying the genre a with a lightning bolt of new life. Hall and Rogers limit their sound to whatever
they can play between them, using only their mouths, hands and feet. Shawn Hall provides soultinged vocals and blues harmonica, while Matthew Rogers rips on the guitar and foot percussion
simultaneously. A Real Fine Mess explores the electric groove blues of the 50s, 60s and 70s with
their own blues, a blues with a taste of rockabilly, soul, gospel and country. A Real Fine Mess
(Deluxe Version) offers up a new track Where Did Ya Go? as well as remixes on existing tracks.
Since the release of A Real Fine Mess (2014) and Checkered Past (2011), Shawn and Matthew
have received considerable recognition in the last few years. They were nominated for the Blues
