The Haupt Conservatory will come alive with


the colors of Kahlos Mexico, greeting visitors
with an evocation of the artists garden at the
Casa Azul (Blue House), her lifelong home.

Experience the inspiration Frida Kahlo found


in the natural world that can be seen and
appreciated in her artwork.

LEON LEVY VISITOR CENTER

The LuEsther T. Mertz Librarys Art Gallery


will feature 14 of Kahlos paintings and works
on papermany borrowed from private
collectionshighlighting the artists use of
botanical imagery in her work.

Delight in a fiesta of vibrant Mexican colors,


with authentic Talavera pottery, tin retablos,
Kahlo-inspired shirts, totes, sketchbooks, and
more!

3 The Mexico City of Frida and Diego


ROSS GALLERY

This panel exhibition will present museums


and other sites in Mexico City where Kahlo and
Riveras artwork and personal collections can
be viewed.

4 Octavio Paz Poetry Walk


PERENNIAL GARDEN WAY

The works of influential 20th-century Mexican


poet Octavio Paz, many referencing native
plants and flowers, will be displayed amid
the seasonal beauty of the Gardens own
collections.

Enjoy Mexican food and drink inspired by Kahlos
own recipes at the Pine Tree Caf and Leon Levy
Visitor Center with an outdoor cantina, plus a
new taco truck serving delicious Mexican fare.
The Hudson Garden Grill will feature a special
pre fixe menu influenced by the exhibit.
PUBLIC PROGRAMS Pick up the daily handout for
complete details on the days activities, including:
Daily tours
Weekend film screenings, live music, and dance
performances
Artisans and performers on special weekends

The Garden is located at 2900 Southern


Boulevard and is off the Bronx River
Parkway at Fordham Road (Exit 7W). We are
also accessible by Metro-North Railroad
(Botanical Garden Station) or by subway on
the B, D, and 4 trains to the Bedford Park

PARKING
Convenient parking is available for $12 on
weekdays and $15 on weekends and peak
days. Follow signs and Garden personnel
directions to available parking spaces.
METRO-NORTH
Take the Metro-North Harlem local line
to Botanical Garden Station. Walk across
Southern Boulevard to the Gardens Mosholu
Gate entrance. Just 20 minutes from Grand
Central Terminal in Manhattan. Save
on tickets to Grand Central Terminal by
purchasing a CityTicket for $4, one way.
(Only valid on Saturday and Sunday within
the city limits.)

Stay on paths, picnic in designated areas,


and keep your pets at home. Picking flowers,
climbing trees, and recreational sports are
not permitted.
Photography is not permitted in the Art
Gallery. Strollers, tripods/monopods,
easels, selfie sticks, food, and drink are not
permitted in the Conservatory, Art Gallery,
and the Ross Hall.
The Garden reserves the right to inspect
all bags. Large backpacks and bags are not
allowed in the Art Gallery. We do not offer a
bag check, so please plan accordingly.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere on
Garden grounds.
Do not feed and never approach wildlife at
the Garden.
