[SENTENCE REARRANGEMENT]
This booklet consists of tips tricks and exercise for the above topic.
re-
Prelude:
Friends nowadays, in almost all the bank probationary officers/clerks
examinations, five or ten questions relating to; arranging of sentences/jumbled up
sentences/ordering of sentences do appear. These sentences are part of a paragraph
having a common theme. The candidates are required to place these sentences in
proper sequence in order to form a coherent and meaningful paragraph.
Significance and format:
This section judges your competency of logical understanding concerning
interpretation of structure or order of sentences. It also checks your grasp and
thinking intensity at sequential reading skill.
These questions are usually of three types:
A. In this type of questions, each sentence is labeled with a letter viz A , B ,C
,D ,E etc . They are jumbled up. The candidate is required to rearrange these
parts in proper sequence, so as to form a coherent and a meaningful
paragraph, the candidate should choose the most logical order of sentences
from among the choices.
B. In this type of questions a sentence is given with some parts usually marked
P, Q, R ,S etc. jumbled up. Candidates are required to rearrange these parts
in proper sequence so as to form a meaningful sentence. The candidates
should read all the parts and try to find out the logical sequence. A little
practice will give you confidence of attempting such questions correctly.
C. In this type of questions, the first and last sentences of the paragraph are
given and the candidates are required to place the rest of the sentences in
proper sequence. However, this type seldom comes at English-section
nowadays.
