China has operationalized its largest dam on the Brahmaputra River in Tibet without a proper water sharing agreement with India. This could impact several Indian states' access to water and hydroelectric power. While the Sutlej River is already dammed, China could build more dams on other tributaries of the Indus River like the Ravi, Chenab, Jhelum, and Beas, which flow through multiple northern Indian states and support agriculture. Without adequate water, food prices and drought will rise, weakening the Indian economy.

1. My dear Idiots of india.....how could we let this happen......let
us atleast ensure they they never dam the Sutlej... http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/china/Chinaoperationalizes-biggest-dam-on-Brahmaputra-inTibet/articleshow/49335741.cms Ooops they have already damed the sutlej Well lets ensure they don't build a second dam ...first is just a barrage Seriously how did it happen....do we not have a water sharing agreement with china No....we agree on piecemeal basis now n then....basically we have no say Maybe it's because we'll not get impacted Seriously...where do u think water in taps n electricity comes from....a lot of it is hydro power Its not just Sutlej.....the other 5 rivers are also damed because like brahamputra indus dam has also been built So ....what has indus got to do with us ravi chenab jhelum beas n Sutlej are tributaries of indus.... So if Indus is damed the others are damed by default My prayers with farmers of the north PS ....what is the price of veggies n fruits in cities
So things get expensive i ll import them fm abroad
Sure but purchasing power n economy of the country goes down with drought....will u hv the money for it It is happening in brazil right now.....
Why don't i just start punjab (n north)drought fund
today........n get a tax rebate for my next tax return....sure start saving n planning to buy a house in china....y Will it only impact punjab Are u kidding me sutlej crosses several states before hitting punjab last....food , electricity are spread beyond north as well N ur forgetting states irrigated by the other 5 We are not saving Sutlej ..sutlej is giving us food water power..n more.n saving us ..in countless ways
