Merry Christmas
And Happy New Year!
Have you ever thought about the word "Merry." It's not a word we use often these days. Merry
Christmas is being changed by many to the words Happy Holidays. But "merry" means so
much more than happy. Look at these definitions of the word "merry."

MERRY
1. Full of cheerfulness, liveliness, and good feelings: merry revelers.
2. Offering fun, good feelings, and liveliness; festive: a merry evening.
3. A merry pace. Delightful or pleasing.
Who doesn't want a life of merriment? Fun, liveliness, festive and good feelings! (Yes, it is a
word. I looked it up) :-) Did you notice #3? Do you have a merry pace in December? If we
are not careful our pace will be hectic, exhausting and wearisome. Slow down and put a little
skip in your step. We have so much to celebrate!
It was interesting to do a word search in the bible on merry.
What else does the bible say about this word?
"A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance." Prov. 15:13
"A merry heart does good, like medicine." Prov. 17:22
I believe a merry heart sings. I love the way Christmas carols
are song all over the world giving praise to our King! "My
servants will sing out of the joy of their hearts." Isa. 65:14
My family has always loved Christmas and celebrating big. I would
have to say it is the main time of the year that we experience merriment. Liveliness runs
rampant in my house during the month of December. We celebrate the birth of our Savior
and we spend more time together as a family than any other time of the year. I believe
this pleases our Father. Why? Because He is all about relationships. The baby in a
manger grew up to make the ultimate sacrifice so HE could be in relationship with us and
even indwell us! He gave HIS life for us, in order to give HIS life to us so that HE could
live HIS life through us! The gift of relationship with Jesus AND with others trumps all gifts.
Reach out to someone who may be all alone this Christmas. Ask God to lead you to that
person. Together includes the word two. We need one another. I love the fact that Christmas
gives us many opportunities to bring past friends together, family members together and even
strangers together to celebrate peace on earth and good will toward men.

A Year of Growth
Physically, Emotionally, Relationally and Spiritually!
We are so thankful for all God has done for us, in us and through us in 2015. And YES, WE
ARE HAVING ANOTHER GRAND CHILD!!! Baby Phillips will arrive in June of 2016 and we are
all thrilled! No one can understand how much of a miracle it is to myself and Tim to see that
God took two people that had almost a 1% chance of making it and created a family that
continues to grow. Thank you Lord. We know it was only by your intervention.
2015 was not a year without some challenges but we are learning more and more about the
faithfulness of God and the power behind keeping an attitude of gratitude. This is how we
CHOOSE to look at some PAST events. Rebekah had a health scare and went to the
emergency room but all test showed there was nothing seriously wrong. Thank you Lord.
However, medical bills caused an immediate need for more income so God provided part
time work for Tim. He is enjoying new relationships and opportunities to share in this
position. Thank you Lord. This coming year Tim's pension will be CUT by almost half. Yikes!
Thank you Lord for however you choose to provide. We choose to trust you. Rebekah
became convicted about the importance of taking care of her physical body. She was led to
the Juice Plus community where God is using her to help people in the area of their health.
Wow Lord, thank you so much! This was quite an unexpected and surprising direction. Not
only are we able to help people emotionally and spiritually but now we can encourage them
in their physical health. Our lifestyles, culture and food industry are making us sick. We can
no longer close our eyes to this crisis. Our bodies WILL respond to wise choices and
intentional care. So will our mind and emotions. The enemy robs, steals and destroys in
EVERY area of our lives. BUT GOD...1.) Loves you 2.) Created your body to respond to good
care. 3.) Gives you the power to say no to bad choices. 4.) Wants His children to be good
examples and encourage others 5.) HAS PROMISED TO GIVE US REAL PRODUCTIVE AND
FULFILLING LIVES! Do you truly believe He wants good things for you? Yes there are
sometimes seasons of pain but remember you are not alone. This season will pass.
We are also thankful for family and friends who love us, believe in us and refer hurting
people to RLM. Whether it be our small groups or a word of encouragement or counseling,
we love helping people. This coming year RLM will be celebrating 10 years of ministry! Oh,
the lives that have been touched the past ten years! The fulfillment that we feel is
immeasurable! RLM has exceeded anything we could have ever dreamed. Many
fingerprints are on the lives that have been touched through this ministry. We pray
abundant blessings on each and everyone of you for your prayers and giving. May you and
your loved ones have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!
