2015 Overview

As the new year stands

before us I would like to
thank every member of the
Fiinovation family for their
hardwork and dedication.
The efforts of all the
members made 2015 a very
successful year for the
organization. I will also like to thank all the
stakeholders who have supported the venture. I
am personally grateful to each one of you for
your tremendous efforts, and I wish everyone a
rewarding, joyous new year.

The Year 2015 can be

summed up in two words
complexed and
perplexed. The journey to
2016 is intriguing as to
what the next year has to
o f f e r. P e n d i n g b i l l s ,
Adjournments and
Political furore ensured
g o v e r n m e n t ' s
performance remained below expectations. India however
managed to attract FDIs in various sectors with Make in India, Smart
Cities, Digital India getting a big boost. From signing of Civil Nuclear
deals to negotiations at the Paris Agreement, India ensured it makes
it to global headlines. With GDP growth of more than 7 percent it
became the fastest growing big economy overpassing its Asian rival
China. It played a major role in evacuation efforts in Yemen and relief
and rehabilitation efforts during the Nepal Earthquake. It suffered the
impacts of climate change with insufcient monsoons that continued
the rural distress and excessive rainfall in the coastal areas that
brought cities like Kolkata, Chennai to standstill.

Let 2016 be the new chapter lled with success,

health, happiness and new opportunities in our
lives. As we go into the new year celebrations I
would like to remember the victims of the recent
Chennai oods, let us all join hands and help
Chennai to rise again.

Retrospection - #ChennaiFloods
The recent rains in south India created havoc in Tamil Nadu and Andhra. Overow from
arterial rivers ooded Chennai and brought it to a standstill. Essential Commodities
including milk, water vegetables faced shortage of supply as transportation was
completely cut off due to water logging and prices of vegetables sky rocketed.

Tweets of the Year

The government offers 12 subsidised cylinders

to every household with an LPG connection in a
year, which costs the exchequer Rs 40,000
crore annually. If this number is brought down to
nine or even six per household, then, according
to experts, will save the government Rs 8,000
crore (according to estimates based on fuel
prices in 2013-14).
India had imported 189.43 million tonnes of
crude oil in 2014-15 for Rs 6.87 lakh crore. This
scal, the imports are projected at 188.23
million tonnes, almost the same level as last
year. The successful rollout of the FAME (Faster
Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and
Electric)-India scheme will result in an annual
savings worth Rs 60,000 crore on India's oil
import bill by 2020.
India signed a Rs 98,000 crore deal with Japan
which includes key areas of defence and
nuclear energy along with building of India's rst
bullet train network between Mumbai
Ahmedabad.
