(Homework) When does the net area of a region equal

(Homework) The following function is positive and negative on the given interval.

Part a: Just graph the function, select the interval and pick the graph.
Part b: Use http://mathworld.wolfram.com/RiemannSum.html
Part c: The given interval that is above the x-axis is positive, whatever is below the
x-axis is negative.
(Example) The following function is positive and negative on the given interval.

(Homework) Consider the following limit of Riemann sums of a function f

Note: This was always marked as wrong even though the answer I gave was correct.
Just copy the interval as it is. B goes on top, A goes on bottom. The next part put
the x in front, then whatever is given in the function (csc, sin, sin 2) followed by
another x then dx.
(Example) Consider the following limit of Riemann sums of a function f

(Homework) The figure to the right shows the area of regions bounded

Note: Its asking for the interval between [0, c]. The area above the x-axis is
positive, the area below the x-axis is negative. Add the positive and subtract the
negative.

25+135=33

(Example) The figure to the right shows the area of regions bounded

(Homework) Use only the fact that and the definitions and properties

Part a, b, c: Set the equations up in the calculator as follows

6 x( 2x ) dx
1

Its important to indicate the multiplication sign or else youll get an error.
Part d: This integral cannot be calculated, but I dont know why. Probably best to
guess that it cant be.

(Homework) Suppose Evaluate the following integrals.

1st part: Take the positive value of the third set of integrals.
2nd part: Multiply the answer from the first part by the given digit in the second.
(Make sure its negative.)
3rd part: Add the two values from the second and third integral given.
4th part: Multiply he value from the last integral by the given number in part 4 then
add the given value in the second integral and make sure its negative.
Good luck.

(Example) Suppose Evaluate the following integrals.

(Homework) Complete the following steps for the given integral and the given value
of n.

Part a: Open a Lists and Spreadsheets window in the calculator and input the
information like in the example. Set the equation in = under column B.
Part b: Just follow the instructions. Use Lists and Spreadsheets to speed up the
second part. Be sure to put A*(whatever).
Try and follow the instructions. This shit sucks.
(Example) Complete the following steps for the given integral and the given value of
n.

(Homework) Consider the following definite integral.

Part a: Follow the instructions. For some reason you ignore the 2 outside the
parentheses. Look at the calculator answer and the example answer.
Part b: Just enter the answer from part a into the calculator and plug in the value for
n for each.

(Example) Consider the following definite integral.

(Homework) Graph the following function. Then use geometry

When finding the area of the region for h2 when its below the x-axis, be sure to
remember that youre taking the absolute value. So for this problem it was |2(4)-2|
which is really 8*2.

(Example) Graph the following function. Then use geometry

(Homework) Use geometry to evaluate the following integral.

Youre finding the area under two functions. The first goes from 1 to 4 on the x-axis,
and the next goes from 4 to 7. So set up the integrals and add them together.
4

2 x dx + 112 x dx=1 5
1

(Example) Use geometry to evaluate the following integral.
