ASSIGNMENT QUESTION
Topic 5 of the course module discusses job promotions and criteria for promotion in the
Malaysian Education Service. A few years ago the government announced that the
Penilaian Tahap Kecekapan (PTK) or the Assessment of Competency Levels was to be
replaced by a new approach of assessing teachers for promotion purposes. This new
approach was adopted last year (2015).
Undertake a study on the issue at a school of your choice. Collect the necessary data by
interviewing at least TWO senior teachers and referring to relevant documents and
records.
The study is focused on the following:
(i)
(ii)
(iii)
(iv)

The teacher assessment system as practiced in 2014;

Critical evaluation of the system;
Characteristics of the new teacher assessment system adopted in 2015;
Commentary on the new system.

Refer to the guidelines rubric on the expected assignment content and also the basis for
which marks are to be awarded for the report. Students are reminded not to divulge the
identity of sites and respondents involved in the study.

Kaedah penilaian mula digunakan pada lepas 2015.

dokumen dan rekod.
