Macbeth, written by playwright William Shakespeare set in

Scotland, revolves around a journey on that which a Worthy thane

and his wife embark on to gain the golden round which is the
crown of Scotland. This journey is fraught with difficulties, as murder
becomes the tool they use to accomplish their aims. Initially, their
relationship is one full of intimacy and compassion however,
significant change occurs throughout the play, to one of separation
and death. This can clearly be seen in Act 2 scene 2, Act 3 scene 4
and Act 5 scene 5.
Initially, conflict arises between the two life partners when they
have contrasting views or attitudes towards Duncans blood, a
representation of their guilt. This can be implied through the
quotations, Little water clears us of this deed and Neptunes
ocean wash this blood. Clean from my hand. Quite clearly, Lady
Macbeth sees the blood in literal sense and believes it is effortless
to remove. Hence, underestimating the power of what the recurring
motif truly contains, guilt. According to her, this blood is temporary
and once it is removed, the stain, guilt and blame will finish
alongside it. However, Macbeth connotes a much deeper and
significant meaning of the blood. For him, it is a permanent
reminder of the regicide of king Duncan, an unforgivable sin. With
the use of hyperbole, Shakespeare is able to reinforce the strength
and power of the blood, in terms of Macbeths viewpoint. Neptune,
the Roman god of the sea meaning that all oceans on Earth belong
to him therefore, it is rather foolish to perceive that these oceans
will be unsuccessful in cleaning the blood from Macbeths hands.
However, guilt is the emotion, which disables Macbeth from
differentiating between the regicide and his better judgement, it is
purely based in the mind and has no correlation with water. In
terms of the audiences reaction, people of the Jacobean times would
most probably have been infuriated due to the a woman,
dominating a man as they firmly believed, men were the superior
race. Lady Macbeths actions would have seemed incredible
inappropriate.
Overall, where Macbeth has Macbeth has seemed to fall weak due
to his immoral actions. Lady Macbeth maintains a positive out look
on their situation. Nevertheless, dramatic change has occurred as
although at one stage they were equals one has risen above the
other to dominate.
Furthermore, Shakespeare is able to further reinforce the imbalance
in power between Macbeth throughout Act 3 Scene 4. At first,
through her quick wits Lady Macbeth covers up for her husband who
is in a state of paranoia. Attempts at managing the difficult
circumstances can be shown through the following quotations, My
worthy lordbeen thus since childhood. brokenadmired
disorder. Act 3 scene 4 is situated at a banquet where men of the
highest power and ranking attend, celebrating Macbeths crowning.

It is rather evident that since Macbeth has lost touch with reality,
Lady Macbeth must take charge and avoid the unravelling of
Duncans true murderers. Outwardly, Lady Macbeth is able to
demonstrate herself as being an ideal queen, confident and
supportive of her king whilst privately, she is unaware of the events
that unfold around her. By calling her Worthy lord, Lady Macbeth
is making hopeless attempts at freeing her husband of the guiltridden unconscious state he is in. In addition, Lady Macbeths very
sarcastic comment on manner Macbeth has ruined the joyous
banquet, emphasises the queens surprise as to the reason,
Macbeth was unable to console himself. Realistically, Lady Macbeth
only fears of Macbeths loss of power as this is what the very
foundation of their love is based on, ambitious Macbeths aspiration
and his wifes consistent support of them.
Finally, though the use of dysphemisms and an insignificant level of
compassion in Macbeths tone prior to Lady Macbeths death, the
writer shows major change. Macbeths rather insensitive choice of
words in the quotation, she died hereaftertime for such a
word, questioning the sincerity of Macbeths love for his wife.
Through the use of dysphemisms or rather the absence of
euphemisms, making no attempt whatsoever to decrease the
impact of the death but instead, using words like died and she,
further distancing himself from her. In terms of writer intentions,
Shakespeare wished to emphasise that due to the nearing of the
war, Macbeth does not wish to concentrate on anything irrelevant
than dying with dignity. During this, Macbeth defies his earlier
persona in which they were dearest partner of greatness and now,
one partner does not have sufficient time to mourn the others
death. In addition, there are also speculations that Lady Macbeth
may have committed suicide due to her inability to cope with her
guilty conscience. This is showcased through her sleepless
hallucinations in which she sub-consciously, tirelessly washes her
hands removing the blood once thought of being insignificant. These
ideas synthesise to communicate role-reversal where dominant Lady
Macbeth falls whereas Macbeth rises as the tyrant.
In conclusion, the legendary Shakespeare is able to demonstrate
change through various language features: dysphemisms, recurring
motifs, a negative tone and sarcastic language. Throughout the
duration of the pay role reversal occurs where worthy Macbeth
falls to his death by becoming a tyrant whereas, Lady Macbeth the
supposedly, weaker feminie character due to her interrupting of the
order of nature commits suicide.
I just wanted to ask how I could make my conclusion more effective?
If or how I can relate it to Jacobeans?
Should I make comparisons with politicians of our day, and other
successful people as they also have wifes supporting them?

Any other way I can get into the high bands?
