European Jews have expressed fears that the gains by anti-Islam and anti-immigration
parties in this week’s European Union parliamentary elections will heighten anti-
Semitism. The most surprising victory was by the far-right wing British National Party,
which restricts membership to whites.
The European Jewish Congress (EJC) called on the EU to "immediately engage in issues
of tolerance and intercultural dialogue."
In a written statement, the group added, “The success of the far-right and nationalistic
parties that won seats in the elections on the basis of racist, anti-Semitic and xenophobic
platforms points to a clear erosion of tolerance and a clarion call to European officials to
immediately engage in intercultural dialogue."
The British right-wing party won two seats in the 736-member EUP, the first time it has
won representation. Opponents pelted its leader Nick Griffin with eggs when he called an
impromptu press conference after his victory.
The party opposes immigration and also wants Britain to withdraw from the EU.
Right-wing gains were widespread. One of the big winners was pro-Israel and anti-Islam
Geert Wilders. His Freedom Party came in second place in the Netherlands, only three
percent behind the party that governs the country. Wilders has declared himself a friend
of Israel in his fight against growing Muslim dominance and has teamed up with National
Union Knesset Member Aryeh Eldad to expose violence in the Muslim religion.
The nationalistic Freedom Party in Austria and the Jobbik party in Hungary also scored
impressive gains, which the European Jewish Congress said “will sadly only serve to
embolden those who espouse the dangerous concepts of extreme nationalism, racism,
anti-Semitism and xenophobia.”

The unidentified Israeli took the floor to emotionally tout Israel’s public health
system as support for U.S. President Barack Obama’s beleaguered health care
plan. A woman, who happened to be wearing an IDF shirt and later was identified
as Pam Pilger shouted back at him, “Heil Hitler.”
The man, shocked by the epithet, responded several times, “Shame on you!”
Pilger countered, "Well, you ought to be the most against President Obama” and
mocked him more after he spoke about his large bill for medical care in the U.S.
The incident contradicts a claim that “conservatives have strenuously denied that
there is any anti-Semitism on display by anti-health reform protesters at town hall
meetings nationwide,” according to the ThinkProgress.com website.
More than 2,000 people packed a local bar to voice their opinions on President
Obama’s controversial plan, which most of those in attendance opposed.
"I don't care what they do with this health care bill. It will not pay for abortions. If
somebody wants to go out and have wild sex, for the fun of it, then they can pay
for the consequences. I'm not going to," Pilger said.

Vandals shocked Americans Monday night by carving a 20 x 30-foot swastika and the
word “Obama” and the letter “I” near the 18th hole of a Massachusetts golf course. The
Secret Service is investigating the possibility of an intended threat on the president.
Green keepers at the Lakeville Country Club discovered the vandalism Tuesday morning,
golf course owner Gary Mosca told Boston’s WBZ television, "It's just so insulting to the
human race and it just shouldn't be part of our doings by anybody. I just can't understand
it. It's unforgivable."
He was quoted in the Boston Herald as saying, "This is sick. They are going to do this
stuff and cause a problem just to be anti-establishment or just to be tough guys. Their
minds are probably demented enough to think of anything."
Mosca said he is an admirer of President Obama, but it is not known if that is the reason
that his golf course was targeted. Lakewood, Massachusetts police have no clues or
information on the perpetrators, and Secret Service agents are working with them on the
case.
Mosca said it will take until next spring to fix the damage, which requires turf experts to
make repairs for golfers. The vandals apparently used their heels or a board to carve
their message of hate. (IsraelNationalNews.com)

A committee to rebuild a Samarian (Shomron) town that was destroyed during the 2005
expulsion of Jews has gone on a fundraising campaign for the rebuilding of the Homesh–
Obama Hilltop. The Shomron Liaison Office, Homesh First, and the Chicago-based Land
of Israel Committee teamed up for donations for the rebuilding of the hill, named in
“honor” of U.S. President Barack Obama.
According to the Land of Israel Committee head, Yosef Rabin, about $1500 has so far
been raised. Donors to the website can send a ready-made letter to President Obama. The
letter states, “A donation has been made in your honor to strengthen the "Homesh-Obama
Hilltop" located in Northern Samaria (West Bank), Israel.”
The letter continues, “Mr.President, your current foreign policy, which objects to any
Jewish communal growth in the liberated territories of Judea, Samaria and eastern
Jerusalem, contradicts the most sacred values of the Jewish Nation and friends of Israel.
It is written in the holy Torah, "Then the Lord your G-d will restore your fortunes and
have compassion on you, gathering you again from all the peoples among whom the Lord
your G-d has scattered you …The Lord your G-d will bring you into the land that your
ancestors possessed, and you will possess it; He will make you more prosperous and
numerous than your ancestors." (Deuteronomy, 26:3-5).”
The letter concludes, “Good people throughout the world will continue to support Jewish
building and growth in all parts of the sacred land of Israel.”
In early July, some 80 members of the "Homesh First" organization, along with activists
and Israelis who were thrown out of their homes during the 2005 Disengagement, held a
funeral for holy books that had been destroyed by Arab vandals in Homesh last month.
Fragments of books, ashes, and, and other objects that had been vandalized and burned
by Arabs in the area who invaded the study hall of the yeshiva in Homesh were buried in
clay jugs.

U.S. President Barack Obama is prepared to offer Israel a promise for a tougher
stand against Iran’s nuclear development program if the Netanyahu government
agrees to stop building for Jews in eastern Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, the
London Guardian reported Wednesday morning.
The reported proposed deal has been rumored for months, while being denied by
American officials. The implications are that the Obama administration does not
see Iran’s apparent goal of obtaining a nuclear weapon as a threat to American
security. On the other hand, President Obama has said that his direct involvement
in the Arab-Israeli conflict is because he considers it vital to the security of the
United States.
The Guardian quoted an Israeli official as saying that President Obama’s proposal
in effect states, “Iran is an existential threat to Israel; settlements are not."
The Guardian based its report on unnamed officials of the U.S., Israel,
the Palestinian Authority and Europe.
In return for the promise for a harder stance against Iran, the Netanyahu
government would agree to a partial freeze on construction for Jews, the report
states. PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is demanding a total freeze.
A tougher line against Iran would be to push the United Nations to call for
crippling economic sanctions on Iran. However, Imposing tougher sanctions is
dependent on the agreement of other United Nations Security Council members,
which in the past has softened moves against Iran because of opposition by Russia
and China.
The U.S. Congress is preparing its own legislation for similar moves against Iran -
without demands upon Israel - when it opens its session next month.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is to meet with U.S. Middle East envoy
George Mitchell in London today, where the reported deal may be discussed.
President Obama’s strategy is to convince the Arab world to make gestures for
normalization of relations with Israel. However, most Muslim countries, led by
Saudi Arabia, have refused to do so without Israel’s first agreeing to surrender all
of eastern Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria.
The next step in the president’s master plan is to work on the status of Jerusalem
and the Arab demand for the right of several million Arabs to immigrate to Israel
based on their claim of ancestry in the Jewish State.

The joke involves a Taliban "fighter” who asks a Jewish merchant for
water, only to be told that he sells ties, not water, but that there is a
restaurant two miles away. The Taliban "warrior,” after delivering an anti-
Semitic tirade, returns an hour later saying, “Your brother tells me I need a
tie to get into the restaurant.”
The New York Magazine’s Dan Amira tried to
rationalize the joke, saying it was not anti-
Semitic. It pointed out that Jones knew most
of his audience was Jewish and that he really
“meant to celebrate Jewish shrewdness and
business savvy with members of the Tribe, not
mock the Jewish people for their trickery and
avarice.”
One think tank member said the joke was "wrong in so many levels," and
added, "Can you imagine him telling a black joke at an event of African
Americans?"
A member of the Taliban was separated from his fighting party and
wandered around for a few days in the desert, lost, out of food, no water.
He looked on the horizon and he saw what looked like a little shack, and
he walked toward that shack and as he got to it, turned out that it was a
shack, a store, a little store owned by a Jewish merchant. And the Taliban
warrior went up to him and said, 'I need water, get me some water.' And
the merchant said, 'I'm sorry, I don't have any water, but would you like to
buy a tie? We have a nice sale of ties today.'
"And passively, the merchant stood there until this Taliban was through
with his diatribe and said, 'Well, I'm sorry but I don't have water for you
and I forgive you for all of the insults you've levied against me, my family,
my country, but I will help you out. If you go over that hill and walk about
two miles there's a restaurant there, and they have all the water you'll
need.'
"And the Taliban, instead of saying thanks, still muttering under his
breath, disappears over the hill -- only to come back about an hour later
and walking up to the merchant and says, 'Your brother tells me I need a
tie in order to get into the restaurant.'"
