#5 is wrong. I take it this is based on an article on The Telegraph? If you do your

research properly before including a widely exaggerated map that was published in
a British newspaper you would include some sort of explanation for the map. In fact
that article makes it clear that the map uses a very broad sense of invaded.
Being Costa Rican I can tell you it was never invaded in the common use of the
word.
In fact the article specifies:
So, many countries which once formed part of the Spanish empire and seem to
have little historical connection with the UK, such as Costa Rica, Ecuador and El
Salvador, make the list because of the repeated raids they suffered from statesanctioned British sailors.
So since you fail to provide the citation and the citation, despite the fact that you
should do your research and cite where you get your information here it is:

Really cool, but why is America so special in #16?Iknow it was probably made by an
American, but even so, what about other countries? Take Australia, for example,
where the main sport by quiteadistance in Victoria is Aussie Rules, NSW is mostly
Rugby League, Queensland is Rugby Union/Cricket etc. Or what about Ireland,
where there are two sports of equal popularity across the country (Gaelic Football
and Hurling) and, much like the American states, there are massive variations from
county to county.
At least break down the UK into its individual countries-Soccer in England and
Scotland, Rugby Union in Wales, Gaelic Football in Northern Ireland. Also,
China,acountry withapopulation4or5times that of the USA, gets lumped together
with one sport-table tennis. What about the regions where badminton, soccer,
basketball are the most popular sport (BTW, soccer is the most popular spectator
sport in China, according to Wikipedia)

I agree that the other large countries, whose individual

states/provinces/regions/other-subdivisions are bigger than many entire
countries, should have been broken down as well, or the USA shouldve been
left as a single American-football area. I rather doubt that sports-fannishness
across India or Russia are as homogenous as the map depicts, in addition to
your points about China, Australia etc. At least one Canadian province
doubtless prefers curling to hockey, and NWT and/or Nunavut might be more
enthusiastic about dogsled racing
Theres a worse (IMO) issue with the map, though:

The area colored in as where Kickboxing is most popular is the locations of
Laos (north) and Cambodia (south), the two countries immediately to the east of
Thailand and according to my Google research, football is most popular in
both Laos and Cambodia (though kickboxing is also popular in both countries,
it is not most popular) and kickboxing is most popular in Thailand.
Presumably that error was a matter of not understanding (or not paying
attention to) which southeast-Asian country was which, rather than a case of
getting the answer to what sport is most popular in ___? wrong three times

census. If it dealt with population density, the brightest spots on the map would be
New Jersey and Rhode Island, and the map would be getting brighter over all.

Well, as an Australian, I have to say cricket is very popular and I love to watch
SOME forms of cricket (I like 5 day tests, hate 20/20, state cricket, etc. I only like
