Our first project was started on 16 th October. We had a small and short discussion at
library regarding the speed boat project. We refer some videos on net to get some information to
build a speed boat. Then, we jot down some useful information regarding the process of building
speed boat to make our work easier.

We discussed again about creating speed boat. Then we had some discussion on choosing
materials to build the speed boat. In this case, we search some suitable materials and design the
structure of the speed boat thoroughly.

Next, we together find the suitable materials from waste products. Then, we finally found
some products such as polystyrene, candle, box, rubber band, tin cover to build the speed boat.
Later, we planned to meet and build the speed boat together. In order to make our work easier,
we refer again some videos to get some clear picture on building speed boat before making it in
real.

On 3rd November, we build the speed boat. It took almost a day because that was not easy
as we thought at the beginning. But finally we able to build that speed boat as we decided before
this. Then, we had some testing on boat. Our first testing, we did it in a pail filled with water and
it move accordingly as we thought. In contrary, our boat when we tested in Tasik Mas the plan
was failure due to some avoidable reasons.

From this case, we point out the factors that made our speed boat failure in order to make
it success. So we again had some discussion regarding the speed boat. In the end of discussion
we planned to change some of the materials within the speed boat to make it move. Then, we

also decided to change some parts and materials that was seems to be a mistake. For this, we use
polystyrene, bottle tin, aluminium iron rode, box, and balloon to upgrade our speed boat.

Fortunately, our upgraded speed boat was successfully move when we tested the speed at
Canselori. To ensure the speed of boat we chose another day to test out our speed boat at
Canselori in order to get complete picture of our project.

Finally, we had our speed boat testing with our lecturer on 7th December. On our first test
the speed boat move very fast but the second speed boat test made us disappoint because it does
not move accordingly due to some natural factors such as wind. Even though the speed boat test
was not so successfully conducted but we still learn some lessons. To conclude, we learn so
many lessons and strategies throughout the process of making speed boat. Although we had some
difficulties at the beginning but we finally succeed the project by upgrading the speed boat
structure.

Ways to solve the problems.

The first speed boat that we made was not that successful because of some natural factor,
the mass of the boat and the depth of the water. Our first speed boat does not move in the water
because the mass of the speed boat was heavy so it make the speed boat move backward when
we test it. It also move according to the wind blow so the natural factor became one of the reason
why our boat was failure at first. To solve this problem, we planned to upgrade and redesign our
boat. Thus, we chose to replace the candle with balloon, added box, aluminium iron rode and
resize the boat to smaller size in order to make it successfully move. Our solution finally paid
off, as we upgraded the speed boat, we finally made the boat move fast and it was a success at
the end.

Conclusion
As a result of this project, we finally made our speed boat move speed according to the
task that given by the lecturer. In order to make this project success, we face a lot of problems
that made us to upgrade the speed boat. Even though, our first speed boat was not that successful
but after we upgraded some materials and the structure of the boat, then it became successful
when we test it at the end of the project. Overall the project was a success as we made the speed
boat move fast and we finally completed the task which was allocated to us on given time.
