Election Roundup: Brooks to hold

California State Assembly candidate Karen Brooks will hold a meet and greet fundraiser
event at Cher-Ae Heights Casino, 27 Scenic Drive in Trinidad, beginning at 6 p.m.
tonight.
Brooks, a 30-year resident of Humboldt County and a small business owner, is
challenging incumbent 1st District Assemblyman Wesley Chesbro. Tuesday's event will
allow those in attendance to ask Brooks questions, and to hear about her ideas for
Sacramento.
Businesses around Eureka and McKinleyville are volunteering as ticket outlets for the
event, which costs $25 per person or $200 per table. A silent auction will also be held
and will contain donated items such as gift cards, San Francisco Giants baseball tickets
and much more.
