Among the big plans Dr Hasmiza has in mind is to go to great clubs like
Manchester United, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Chelsea to have a firsthand look at how they are run.
With such a huge sponsorship in the bag, KAFA president Tan Sri
Annuar Musa is confident the Red Warriors are ready to end their two-year
title drought.
I was in a real fix after our dismal outing last season. That was the first
time in my seven years in KAFA that our accounts were in deficit ... by the
millions. So, when the tie-up with Vida Beauty Sdn Bhd came along ... it
was like a promise of a second wave for Kelantan football. It promises a
new environment and atmosphere for the fans.
With cash to splash, KAFA are bent on getting the best players and
are in the market for two more foreign pros.
They already have last years Golden Boot winner Dramane Traore
in the bag while retaining the services of Australian defender Jonathan
McKain.
Thirty-three-year-old Malian hotshot Traore, who scored 20 goals
for Police last season, is expected to arrive on Saturday for medical tests.
Kelantan have also secured the services of Terengganu striker
Abdul Manaf Mamat and their former players striker Indra Putra
Mahayuddin and defender Daudsu Jamaluddin.
Those from the 2012 treble winning squad who are still with the
team are skipper Khairul Fahmi Che Mat, Mohd Shahrizan Ismail
(goalkeepers); Mohd Farisham Ismail, Nik Shahrul Azim, Zairul Fitree Ishak,
Muhd Faim Zainal Abidin (defenders); Mohd Badhri Radzi, Mohd Khairul
Izuan Rosli (midfielders); and Mohd Norfarhan Mohd (striker).
Last year, Kelantan finished as FA Cup runners-up after losing to
Lions XII 3-1 in the final.
They also finished a dismal ninth in the Super League and failed to
get past the group stage in the Malaysia Cup competition.
But with their finance in the pink of health, things are looking good
for Kelantan.
Nemanja Matic
Football has often been about double acts Bruce and Pallister,
Keegan and Toshack, Vieira and Petit, to name a few.
And while Cesc Fabregas has created the goals for Chelsea,
midfield partner Nemanja Matic has provided the steel to Fabregas silk.
The Serbian is a giant barrier to anyone who wants to get at
Chelseas defence, and it is no coincidence that their only league defeat
came away to Newcastle when Matic was suspended.
He may be the enforcer but he is also a fine footballer and he is
creating a partnership with the Spaniard that could be together for years
at Stamford Bridge.
Wayne Rooney
The arrival of Louis van Gaal at Manchester United and his close
relationship with fellow Dutchman Robin van Persie could have pushed
Wayne Rooney down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
But Van Gaals decision to make Rooney captain has been repaid
with a series of buccaneering performances from Uniteds No.10.
He has been both setting the example and cajoling his team-mates
as the Reds look to bounce back under Van Gaal whether up front or
recently in midfield,
Rooney has given everything to help his team and he has
demonstrated that street-footballer instinct of winning at all costs that is
loved by the fans.
Alexis Sanchez
The Premier League lost one of its South American stars when Luis
Suarez swapped Liverpool for Barcelona. But in Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal
have found the nearest thing to a direct replacement.
Sanchez has that same eye for goal, incredible work ethic and
desire not to be beaten, forged from a tough upbringing in Chile.
And those qualities have stood out for Arsenal where he has been
his sides top performer in an up-and-down first 19 games.
South Americans have often taken a long time to settle in England,
but Sanchez has hit the ground running and has emerged as one of the
best players to watch, with 15 goals in all competitions.
John Terry
He partners Englands first choice centre-half Gary Cahill, but make
no mistake, John Terry remains the best defender in England.
June.
The threat of this did not prevent Youth and Sports Minister Khairy
Jamaluddin from instructing the Sports Commissioner on Wednesday to
send the show-cause letter to FAM.
He said FAM was also to blame because it lost control of the fans
on its own turf.
FAM had been warned about security issues but did not do much
about it, he said, and so FAM must take responsibility for what
happened.
Im not exerting power here or restructuring the leadership at
FAM. I cannot do that because they are democratically elected.
