Victorias lesson on Earth Day and ways to protect the Earth was very well planned and connected
language arts with science.

Students needs were met in this lesson. The students were able to express their thoughts by writing

Victoria has a wonderful rapport with the children. She is kind and thoughtful and is aware of

Students were actively involved in the discussion and were encouraged to turn and talk with a partner
to share thoughts and ideas throughout the story.

Victorias lesson was well planned and organized. She researched literature about Earth Day that was
grade level appropriate. She created a template for an Earth Day pledge to be displayed on a hall
bulletin board.

Victoria had the children recall all the ways to help save the Earth from the story, Miss Foxs Class
Goes Green. She listed the ways on the smart board. The students were asked to choose a way to save
the earth and write a pledge in a complete sentence on a teacher made template.

Victoria provided students with positive feedback when they recalled events and details from the
story. She had the class show thumbs up or down to check for understanding.

Victoria started the lesson with a story about Earth Day. She used the smart board to list ways to save
the Earth. She asked higher level questions such as, In what ways do you think the Earth is
important? and What did it mean when the author says, Miss Foxs class is going green? The children
wrote a pledge to help save the Earth on a template. They also drew a picture of the Earth and colored
it in and glued their pledge onto the middle of the Earth.

Victoria clearly stated the lesson objective. The objective was achieved by implementing a well
planned lesson. The children were actively engaged in the lesson by listening to a story, recalling
events from the story, turning and talking with a partner for sharing thoughts, writing complete
sentences, and drawing the Earth for a bulletin board display.

Victoria checks homework, takes attendance, grades math, comprehension, and spelling tests, and
records grades on a record sheet as well as on the computer program, Gradebook. She accompanies
the cooperating teacher on parent teacher conferences. Victoria assists the cooperating teacher on
conducting Teacher College Assessments and completing Gifted and Talented Assessment forms. She
is also responsible for teaching reading, writing, spelling, and math lessons. She helped plan and
organize the second grade field trip to Abmas Farm in Wykoff, NJ.

of contributing by voluntarily offering assistance and participating in school/district events

Victoria attends PLC meeting s to discuss second grade curriculum, staff meetings, Balanced Literacy
Workshops, and ELA Curriculum Committee meetings. She participates in school theme days and
attends social events such as school luncheons. She shares her knowledge of the second grade
curriculum with grade level partners.
