SHUCKERS FALL IN FINALE TO BRAVES: The Biloxi Shuckers dropped the series finale against the Mississippi
Braves, 9-3, on Wednesday morning at Trustmark Park. Wei-Chung Wang (2-1) allowed a leadoff home run to
Ozze Albies, and three total runs in the first inning. Nick Ramirez walked twice and drove in a run in the seventh.
Nick Shaw drove in two runs with a single in the ninth.Martin Viramontes surrendered four runs in 1.1 innings of
relief, while Stephen Peterson recorded two outs and gave up two hits.
FOUR-STRAIGHT SERIES WINS: The Shuckers have won each of the first 4 series played to open the 2016
season taking: CHA (4-1), MOB (3-1), PNS (4-1), MIS (3-2).

BILOXI BASEBALL HISTORY: Pro baseball is not totally new to the Gulf Coast, but it is the first since 1908. The
Gulfport-Biloxi Sand Crabs of the Cotton States League played half a season in Biloxi during the summer of 1908.
Many Major League and som Minor League teams held spring traing in the area. Even the 1920 Milwaukee Brewers
of the American Association (direct descendant of the current Brewers) trained in Gulfport. See below.

Todays Start: 23-year-old Adrian Houser makes his 4th start of the 2016 season in game one of the five-game
set with the Tennessee Smokies. The righty has allowed 12 runs through his first three outings on 14 hits, eight walks
and 13 strikeouts.
Last Outing: Houser allowed five runs on five hits, four walks and five strikeouts in four innings in a 5-0 loss to the
Mississippi Braves on April 22.
vs. Tennessee: Thursday will be Housers second career start against the Smokies. In his previous outing, the
Oklahoma native lasted just two innings, surrendering seven runs - five earned - on five hits, two walks and two
strikeouts.
2015: Acquired by Milwaukee from Houston, along with LHP Josh Hader, OF Brett Phillips and OF Domingo Santana
in exchange for OF Carlos Gomez, RHP Mike Fiers and International Signing Bonus Slot #76 on 7/30.
- Began the season in the Astros organization, where he went 3-4 with a 5.10 ERA in 19 games (13 starts) between
Class-A Lancaster (12g/8gs) and Double-A Corpus Christi (7g/5gs).
- Went 4-1 with a 2.92 ERA in 7 starts at Double-A Biloxi.....threw a shutout in the rst round of the Southern League
playoffs, earning a 6-0 victory on 9/11 vs. Pensacola (9ip, 3h, 0bb, 10k).
- Made 2 scoreless relief appearances with the Brewers... His Major League debut came on 9/26 at St. Louis (1ip, 1h,
1bb)... His other appearance with Milwaukee came on 10/2 vs. Chicago-NL (1ip, 1bb).

The former Minor League infielder spent nine seasons with the Milwaukee (1987-92, 94-95) and Kansas City (1993) organizations. He collected a .242 career batting average over nine seasons as a middle infielder.
Mike was born into a baseball family as Sandy and his father, Epy, was a renowned scout in the Dominican Republic who unearthed over 40 Major League players. Mike
was named after former Major League pitcher Mike Torrez, who was a friend of his father. His uncle, Mario Guerrero, was a Major League infielder with Boston (1973-74),
St. Louis (1975), California (1976-77) and Oakland (1978-80).
Mike and his wife Larissa reside in Melbourne, Fla and the couple has two sons, Michael and Daniel. Mike was born in Santo Domingo, DR.
