My mother asked from where he would purchase this food—
if he would be dining at a restaurant, or retrieving some
items from a store. It appeared that he had not thought his
plan of action out; fore he provided a perplexed look at her
inquiry. ―I just need some money so I can get the food,‖ he
replied.
My mother asked him to wait a moment as she closed the
door. She asked me to go into the kitchen and pull some
items down from the pantry. I did. Then she asked me to
bring a pot and pan. Once I had collected the remaining
items, she opened the door and presented them to the man,
and said, ―now you have enough food for a week.‖

Spotlight…
Although she did not grant him exactly what he asked for,
she was able and willing to provide him with what he
needed. Looking in and around our community, I see so
many that are in need, and so much that needs to be
done. My mother showed me on that afternoon, no matter
how big or small my offering, I can make a difference. I
challenge you to do the same.
