Key Frame 1

For the first scene of my production, it will show the protagonist Shania
sitting on the floor of a school with a weapon in her hand looking
extremely confused as she does not know what is happening. The shot
used for this scene is a medium shot; this allows the audience to see the
characters facial expression and also her action. The shot will also show
the environment she is in and make it obvious for the audience to know
that she is on school premises, which can be shown as there are lockers in
the background. The lighting is exposed closely focusing on Shanias face
making her emotion more clearly to the audience. The scene will have no
sound as she is just sitting there; therefore it is non-diegetic

Key Frame 2
In the second scene the protagonist Shania is walking through the corridor
of the school holding the gun in her hand as she now realises who she is
and what she has to do. For this scene, the shot will be a long shot to
show how to the audience the characters emotion and the background
also being able to see that Shania is now showing no fear and is confident
due to the expression on her face. Shanias body language allows the
audience to be aware of her situation as the setting is isolated implying
she is alone and in danger as she is carrying a weapon. The lighting in the
scene will be reflected from the lights within the school. This means it will
be normal lighting to create suspense in the atmosphere, as this scene
shows jeopardy. This scene is going to be in diegetic sound to create a
more realistic environment as the only sound that would be heard is the
sound of Shanias footsteps. From using this, the audience should get a
better understanding of the opening scene, as this scene is the climax in
the film.
Key Frame 3
This scene will consist of my antagonist Hannah, running into the school
building with a gun in her hand. As the doors close behind her, it makes a
loud noise. The shot for this scene will be an extreme long shot showing
Hannahs character actions. Also showing the audience what her
surroundings are and the environment she is running into. The lighting for
this scene will be high key; to make the environment to make Hannahs
surroundings stand out and to also shows the contrast between the
previous scenes. The sound for this scene is going to be diegetic as the
only sound that would be heard is Hannah running towards the building.

The sound will be diegetic to have a more realistic effect on the audience
and they would gain more knowledge of the narrative.

Key Frame 4
In this scene, Shania hears a noise in the background, which results in her
looking very nervous and scared due to Hannahs entrance into the
building. For this scene, it will be a close up so the audience can clearly
see the expression on the characters face and the direction she is looking
will indicate to the audience that she heard the noise coming from that
way. The lighting in this scene will be shown more on Shanias face to add
emphasise to the emotion she is feeling. The scene will have non-diegetic
sound as the noise the character hears in the background will result in her
facial expression. The noise that Shanias character hears is a loud Bang
as Hannah the Caucasian girl enters the building and the door slams
closed.
Key Frame 5
Scene five will indicate to the audience that after her facial reaction, her
next movement was hiding. Shanias action shows her peering round the
edge of the lockers, holding up the gun in her hand facing forward in
preparation if she saw Hannah. This scene will be a medium shot which
will allow the audience to see the characters facial expression and the
weapon she is holding in front of her. The lighting for this scene will be
normal lighting; showing the audience what she is doing. The sound for
this scene will be diegetic so the scene is seen as more realistic and so
the audience can feel apprehensive for Shanias character.
Key Frame 6
This scene consists of Hannah walking up the stairs, in search for Shania
and holding the gun firmly in her hand. This is a medium shot so the
audience can see she is walking up the stairs with the weapon also
showing the neutral facial expression Hannah has on her face. The lighting
in this scene shall be brighter to emphasise her clothing and her action.
The scene will also be diegetic as the audience would be able to hear her
footsteps when she is walking up the stairs and the sound of her chain
bouncing off her chest. This would make the scene seem more realistic to
the audience because of these sounds and also the characters movement
as she is moving swiftly.
Key Frame 7

For scene 7 of my production, Shanias character moves from behind the

lockers as she is now reassured that Hannah is not coming down the
corridor, however the audience will be able to tell that she is still looking
around and nervous due to her body language. The shot will be a medium
shot so the audience can see her environment. The audience may feel
connected to Shania as they may feel fear with her. The lighting in this
scene will be low key to have a more effective outcome for the audience.
This will allow the viewers to feel scared and also bringing more tension to
the atmosphere as the scene will be non-diegetic. This will also come
across as more believable to the audience as they will not be able to hear
any noise so it makes the viewers more apprehensive.
Key Frame 8
In this scene, Shanias character turns round the edge of the wall and
comes face-to-face with Hannah. The shot this scene will be in is a long
shot. This is to allow the audience to feel the tension between both
characters and to show both the characters facial expressions, also so the
audience can feel connected with the narrative. The body language of
both the characters may show to the audience that they are strong
females and do not fit the stereotype of typical women in reality. The
lighting in this scene will remain low key, due to the apprehension of the
one of the characters next movements. The sound in this scene will be
non- diegetic to build up more suspense for the audience as well as a
dramatic effect with the characters.
Key Frame 9
For this scene, Shanias is hiding behind the wall as Hannah takes the first
shot. From this, the audience will be able to know that Shania is able to
dodge quickly as a bullet moves rapidly. This scene will consist of a
medium shot, so the audience can see how the characters are positioned
and the facial expressions of both the characters. It is also clear to the
viewers that they are now both in danger as a shooting has just taken
place. For this scene, the lighting will be low key due to the continuous
amount of tension with both of the characters. Also, due to the shooting,
and it typically being a dangerous event, this resulted in low key lighting
as a realistic scenario. The sound will be diegetic due to the gun shot
noise. The sound of the gun shot intrigues the audience more and they
have better understanding of what the film is about.
Key Frame 10
This scene will consist of Shanias character peering round the wall to aim
at Hannah to shot her while she is running away. This scene will be an

over the shoulder shot to show the audience the near absence of Hannah
when Shania turns to shot at her. From this, the audience is aware that
she is isolated and dangerous by her now being alone and ready to use
her weapon. The lighting will be high key to show Shania holding the gun
straight and to make it clearer that Shania is aiming to shot. This also
creates an unsafe setting for the audience to feel fear for Shanias
character. This scene will be non- diegetic sound so the feeling of
suspense maintains and the audience connect with Shanias character
from this scene, with the feeling of terror.

Key Frame 11
Scene 11 consists of Hannah running down the stairs, to get away from
Shania after she took the first shot, showing the audience that she is
trying to get away quickly so she does not get caught by her enemy. A
birds eye view shot will be used for this scene, so the audience can see
the character running down the stairs and still being in a hurry. The
lighting for this scene will be normal lighting, however the top the banister
on the stairs will have light being reflected off from the outside light. The
sound will be diegetic due to hearing Hannahs footsteps going down the
stairs. Furthermore is creates a realistic environment because it is the only
sound heard.
Key Frames 12
Scene 12 consists of Hannah looking before her in search of Shania to see
if she has followed her down stairs. Hannah is holding the gun up in front
of her so it is easier for her to shot the antagonist if they meet face-toface once again. Scene 12 will be a medium shot to show where Hannah is
looking and the new area of the building she is in. The audience should
gather from this that Hannah is now showing fear and conscious of her
surroundings. Although the audience may not be able to see her whole
face, they should be able to tell that she is scared and would have a
nervous and terrified look on her face. The lighting in this scene will be
dull to show anxiety throughout this scene, and making the audience bond
with what is going on by engaging them into the film more as they want to
know what happens more into the film. This scene will be diegetic as
Hannah and the audience can hear the her footsteps.
Key Frame 13

In this scene, Shania is runs down the stairs, in attempt to find Hannah
after she shot her and run the other way. Shania runs down the stairs in a
slanted position due to her feeling relieved she did not get shot. Also the
audience would be able to tell that she is panicking because of the
position she is running in. This scene will be in a point of view shot
showing where she is and how she is running. The lighting will be normal
lighting showing which also shows Shanias movement, which would
illustrate to the audience that it is still a mysterious scene and would
engage them with the story more. This scene will consist on having a
diegetic sound as Shanias footsteps and her heavy breathing as the only
sounds that can be heard within this scene. Also this shows normality for
the audience and makes the scene more natural as footsteps and
breathing are heard in everyday life.

Key Frame 14
In this scene, Shania is hiding behind the wall with the gun held up to her
chest because she feels like the protagonist is near her. This scene will be
a close up shot of Shania holding the weapon and showing the audience
the look of fear of potentially dying and determination (of trying to kill
Hannah) on her face. The lighting is dim which emphasises the mood of
danger. This lighting effect will also interest the audience more because it
builds the tension in the scene. It is as well going to be non- diegetic,
which will create more suspense for the audience and make it seem more
natural.
Key Frame 15
Scene 15 is of Hannah taking of her shoe and throws it into the space in
front of her, to catch the attention of Shania and to see is she is nearby.
This shot will be a wide shot, showing the audience where she is throwing
the shoe and the positioning of her character; in addition to this, the
audience will be able to see Shania standing on the other side with the
weapon at the ready. Lighting still remains dim and low key to emphasis
the mood and to put the audience in an emotion being apprehensive. The
sound that will be heard in this scene is the sound of the shoe when it hits
the floor, making this scene diegetic. Having the scene being diegetic will
make it more real for the audience to watch and will make them feel more
connected to the story and engage with it more.

Key Frame 16
Hannah has just shot Shania and the scene reveals this by being focused
on the gun positioned in front of Hannah. This scene will be at eye level
shot showing, Hannah holding the gun pointing it at the camera. For the
audience this will allow them to bond more with the scene and so they can
interpret what has just happened. Also that it feels realistic because the
gun is at eye level pointing towards the camera, where the audience are
facing. The lighting for this scene will be dark, so the audience can feel
more of the tension in this scene. This scene is diegetic which builds up
apprehension and more engagement for the audience as they can hear
the gun shot but do not see Shania falling.
Key Frame 17
In scene 17, Shania was shot by Hannah in my production, which results in
Shania falling to the floor. The shot will be a close up of Shania, showing
her on the floor unconscious. The lighting is dull, creating a gloomy effect
for the audience, as they can now tell that Shania is dead. This scene will
be non- diegetic to seem more realistic to the audience that someone is
dead.

Key Frame 18
Hannah drags Shanias body across the floor to put her out of sight in the
next scene as she does not want anyone to find her body. This scene will
be an over the shoulder shot, showing the audience Hannah is dragging
Shania by her feet with the gun pointing at her in case Shania was to
wake up from unconsciousness. The lighting remains dim still building
anticipation for the audience to know what will happen next. This scene is
non- diegetic to make it believable for the audience to know someone just
died.
Key Frame 19
Scene 19 shows Hannah hiding Shanias dead body somewhere no one
can see her. This will be a long shot to advertise to the audience that
Hannah is hiding the body in a place that is out of sight and behind the
school lockers. It is a long shot to show Hannah trying to move the body
also showing her positioning; making it obvious to the audience she
doesnt want the body to be found. The lighting is low key as the
atmosphere is now gloomy due to Shanias death. This scene is nondiegetic to build nervousness with the character and the audience.

Key Frame 20
Shanias character wakes up on a bench surrounded by the netball team
she was previously playing with before she fell unconscious. This scene
will be a point of view shot, showing Shania looking up and seeing her
team mates starring at her with a concerned look on their faces. This tells
the audience that Shania was in a dream and it is clear to see her friends
are worried by the expressions on their faces. The lighting is high key as
the reflection from the lights are beating down on the environment and
also because the tension mood has faded from the audience. The sound in
this scene is diegetic as Shanias team mates ask if she is okay and how
she is feeling after that incident.
