initiative towards the social cause i.e., education of our
people in every aspects of society. In this direction, there
are so many social problems, we all can contribute little
towards educating the people in the society about utility of
everything in proper way. I wish we want to encourage our

“I feel very happy to be a part of LEAD. I began my journey in LEAD as a

LEADer then became a Campus Ambassador and then Master Campus
Ambassador where I really learnt many things and served a bit to society. It‟s a
pleasure to tell that LEAD not only gives you a chance to become a leader but
also helps you to build your career. LEAD played a major role in my recruit-
ment in TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) during the campus interview in my
college. I spoke only about LEAD in my interview. I shared my experience in
LEAD, how I did things, why I did etc etc which made me stand out from the
crowd and that is what made the interviewers select me! LEAD is what makes
you a LEADer and it is all about being “YOU” there.”

Sadhika M: 2nd Sem, BVB CET, Hubli

Sadhika noticed that many students in BVB College drive their vehicles without a
license which is very dangerous. Then she came up with an idea to help them in
getting their license. She contacted RTO authorities and took permission to
conduct a camp, conducted tests and finally more than 50 students got their license
out of 150 which applied at the first go. Sadhika has plans to carry out this project
to all the BVB students who drive without a license.

Ramya Hegde: 2nd Sem, MES College of Commerce, Sirsi

Ramya thought of helping the poor people to improve their livelihood. She
went to an SHG group and gathered 10 women and taught them to make
pillow covers using waste and unused clothes. The women made pillow covers
and sold them to market. Now its their routine business.

Monica Lodaya: 2nd Sem, BVB CET, Hubli

Monica came up with an innovative idea to make writing pads out of waste papers.
She and her team used waste papers, soaked them in water and made card boards
out of the pulp. They sold the card boards to a member of Red Foundation and util-
ized the profit to teach the method to the school children of Tarihal, Hubli. More
than 20 kids made the card boards and now are using them.

Ullas Hegde: 3rd year, MES College of Commerce, Sirsi

Ullas found out that, more than 20000 books in the central library don't have
numbers and the visitors find it very difficult to find the book they want. So he
came up with an idea to implement systematic way of keeping books in the
library. He and his team members took permission from the library manager
and divided all books in categories and also put number stickers on them. They
arranged all the books in a proper manner and now its very easy to maintain
them. It is now very easy for the visitors to find the book they want.

Veeresh Varur: 2nd Sem, REC Engi. College, Hulkoti

Veeresh‟s college did not have a proper parking system, so he decided to work on
this problem. He along with his team members took the permission from manage-
ment, bought necessary materials and came up with the best parking design for
their college. Then they themselves drew the design and completed the project
within 3 days. Now the college has a parking system which can accommodate more
