INT. NA'KHUL TIME CONDUIT FACILITY - STARDATE 2845.

06
A large time-portal held in suspension by a circular machine
glows and swirls, an awe inspiring site. The room is large
and dark. Machines and computers, plus loose wiring, are
everywhere.
To the left side is a doorway, with the double-doors open. A
large tube, with a blue electric energy flowing through it,
surrounded by metal rings is seen through the doorway.
Na'khul scientist are operating the machinery, one of them
walks around, carrying a touch-pad, checking the system.
VOSK, the Na'khul leader, wearing a militaristic general's
outfit, is standing in front of the portal. He watches it
grinning, feeling he is fulfilling his destiny.
VOSK
Is it ready?
NA'KHUL SCIENTIST ONE
(looks up from behind a
computer)
The wormhole seems to be stable.
All systems are operating with
ninety-eight percent efficiency.
VOSK
Good. It is time.
NA'KHUL SCIENTIST TWO
(stops and lowers the pad)
You realize the consequences of
failure, don't you? We need to run
more tests, I'm sure I can achieve
the additional two-percent. Just
give me more time.
VOSK
Do not ever speak to me that way
again, understood?
NA'KHUL SCIENTIST TWO
Yes, my leader. I was only making a
valid suggestion.
VOSK
And it has been noted. These are
times of war, we do not have
time...We must make our move,
before the enemy makes theirs.
VOSK steps forward, closer the portal. He stops and turns
back to the scientists, who are watching eagerly.
VOSK
Set my destination to
Earth...Twentieth century.
NA'KHUL SCIENTIST ONE
Why there, sir?
VOSK
Because that is the time when the
humans are at their weakest. I will
cut them in their Achilles heel.
NA'KHUL SCIENTIST ONE
Destination is set. Configuring
now.
The portal ceases and then reappears. Slightly altered in
its swirl.
VOSK steps back.
VOSK
Alert Da'kahl. I want a armed party
and two of you to accompany me.
That way we can assure a safe stay,
until the fleet arrives.
NA'KHUL SCIENTIST TWO
Yes sir.

EXT. STAR FLEET COMMAND - STARDATE 3104.08
A bright sunny day with a deep blue sky, a few clouds drift
about. A small ship appears, lowering at a slow rate. It
lands on the landing deck of the fifth floor of Star Fleet
command. An exit ramp lowers and Two men, wearing black
uniforms exit the craft. Admiral Aiken and Ambassador Salen
are awaiting them. The craft powers down, the cooling of the
engines is heard--loudly. The two men approach the Admiral
and Ambassador. Tension between the parties can be seen in
the body language. Something isn't right, it lingers it the
air--a sense of fear.
ADMIRAL AIKEN
Welcome to Star Fleet, although, I
guess you already know who we are.
It is you who should be talking.
DANIELS
I am agent Daniels with Sector
Thirty-One. May we discuss things
in a more private venue?
ADMIRAL AIKEN
Of course.
He glances at Ambassador Salen, who nods agreeably.
ADMIRAL AIKEN
(sarcastically)
You are the bosses, right?
EDMOND
You seem to have hostilities toward
us, may I ask as to why?
AMBASSADOR SALEN
You can alter reality to any
timeline you like. Change history,
corrupt fate. That disturbs us, an
immoral concept. Things that should
be left to god.
DANIELS
Even God needs help. You need help,
which is why we are here. You know
of what's to come. You're
afraid...We are all afraid.
ADMIRAL AIKEN
I thought you felt no fear. I mean,
you can do anything, right?
DANIELS
Are we going to stand out here and
discuss predujices, or can we get
down to bussines?
ADMIRAL AIKEN
Follow me.
They enter the building.
CUT TO:
INT. STAR FLEET COMMAND - MEETING HALL
The room is small. A large monitor on one wall facing a
meeting table. Various pictures and placks litter the walls,
among them is an image of the USS Enterprise (Kirk's ship.
AMBASSADOR SALEN and ADMIRAL AIKEN are seated at a black
table, intently watching the monitor. DANIELS is standing
next the the monitor, watching the Admiral's reaction.
EDMOND is standing at the rear of the room, guarding the
door.
CLOSE UP:
MONITOR: An image of Federation space. It zooms into
Earth--surrounded by warships, class unknown, they are
firing at the planet. Any starship that attempts to stop
them is easily obliterated.
CUT BACK:
DANIELS steps in front of the monitor. ADMIRAL AIKEN and
AMBASSADOR SALEN are appalled by what they have just seen.
DANIELS
The Guardians sent us this
transmission. A warning.
ADMIRAL AIKEN
So, what do want us to do?
DANIELS
This timeline is an altered version
of our own, a corruption.
AMBASSADOR SALEN
And the Guardians did this? They
changed our fate?
DANIELS
No. As of now, we are on peaceful
terms with them. We caused this, it
is happening now.
He point to the monitor: A large temporal wave is traveling
across the timeline, changing it.
DANIELS
We have pinpointed the origins at
around stardate 2387.04. Something
disrupted the tachian field.
Changing reality...past, present,
and future.
FLASHBACK:
EXT. ROMULAN SPACE - HOBUS STAR - STARDATE 2387.04
The JELLYFISH, starship, drops out of warp. It turns toward
the star. Another ship appears, on an intercept course, it's
the NARADA.
CUT TO:
JELLYFISH INTERIOR. SPOCK PRIME is piloting the craft.
BEEP--BEEP... He is being hailed: It's NERO.
CUT BETWEEN:
JELLYFISH AND NARADA:
NERO
I warned you Spock. Those diplomats
have failed us...Now you will pay
for the billions of lives lost. The
death of Romulus will be avenged.
SPOCK PRIME
I did what I could. Now I have to
destroy this star, Nero. Or the
rest of the universe will suffer
the same fate. All life will cease.
NERO
It's funny isn't it? Vulcan finally
decides to give you the red matter
right after their greatest enemy is
eliminated. Vulcans only care for
themselves, you reason on logic and
fact. No emotion. No remorse.
SPOCK PRIME
Nero, I understand what you are
feeling, but trust me. Romulas can
be rebuilt.
NERO
You sound like the corrupt
diplomats that have placed us in
this situation. Which, I guess I
shouldn't be surprised, you are
half-Vulcan.
The exploding mass of energy is seen in the distance,
growing more devastating. A ball of roaring fire.
NERO
How do you like my new vessel, much
stronger than it was
before....Thanks to Borg
retro-fitting. That's right Spock,
we were helping the Borg. Planning
an attack on Earth.
SPOCK PRIME
How could you? The Federation
helped your species. We protected
you from the Remans.
CUT BACK:
The JELLYFISH draws nearer to the star, and so does the
Narada.
FLASH TO:
EXT. KLINGON SPACE
The USS ENTERPRISE-E is stopped, surrounded by destroyed
Klingon Birds of Prey. Debris is scattered. One Klingon
vessel is still intact. It docks with the Enterprise.
CUT IN:
INT. USS ENTERPRISE-E - AIRLOCK
The Enterprise's airlock HISSES open. WORF, in Klingon
attire, emerges. He is brutally injured. DOCTOR CRUSHER and
PICARD GREET HIM.
PICARD
(panicing)
Worf, where is he? Where did he go?
WORF
(struggling to speak)
He...
WORF groans in pain--
WORF(CONT'D)
...is going
He stumbles.
PICARD
Worf, we need to know. For god's
sake! Where the hell is Nero?
WORF
Romulas. He went to uh...ah..
WORF stumbles to the floor bleeding.
PICARD
(to Crusher)
Get him to medical bay.
CRUSHER
Yes Sir.
(to Worf)
Come on, your going to be alright.
She grabs Worf and helps him along the hallway. Picard
hurries down the opposite hallway and into a turbo-lift.
INT. USS ENTERPRISE-E - BRIDG
SWISH--The turbo-lift opens and PICARD walks into the
Bridge. DATA, now captain, is seated in the captain's chair.
Ensign Walker is at the helm.
DATA turns to Picard.
DATA
How is General Worf?
PICARD
Alive... We need to get to the
Hobus Star System immediately. Nero
is there.
DATA
Are you certain? There is no way he
could arrive there in that amount
of time, a calculated warp factor
of twenty-seven would be needed.
That would destroy his vessel.
PICARD
Not with Borg retro-fitting.
DATA
Borg? But we...
PICARD
Captain Data, we don't have the
time to...
DATA
Understood.
(turns to Ensign Walker)
Helm, set a course to Hobus System.
Maximum warp capabilities.
ENSIGN WALKER
Aye sir. Initiating Warp.
ENSIGN WALKER activates the warp engines. Picard takes a
seat at the Tactical controls.
CUTAWAY:
The Enterprise enters warp.
FLASH FORWARD:
INT. STAR FLEET COMMAND - MEETING HALL
ADMIRAL AIKEN
So why aren't we changed. I mean,
we are still the same, Aren't we?
DANIELS
Yes. The tachian wave won't reach
us for another three days. Which is
why we need to move fast.
He pauses, takes a breath--
DANIELS(CONT'D)
Then real problem is not a thing,
but a person.
AMBASSADOR SALEN
Person?
DANIELS
yes. His name is Vosk. Leader of
the inter-galactic terrorist
organization known as the Na'khul.
They have been searching, years,
for a weakness, a flaw, in our
accords. They found one.
ADMIRAL AIKEN
We want details Mr. Daniels, not a
sad story.
DANIELS
They have developed a new method of
time travel. A cloaking time
portal, one we cannot trace. So, in
short, they can lterally be
anywhere, past or future, and we
can't find them.
ADMIRAL AIKEN
What about the Nexus?
DANIELS
What?
ADMIRAL AIKEN
The Nexus, a rift in the temporal
fabric. You didn't think we were
completely oblivious to the
operations of Sector Thirty-One.
did you?
DANIELS
The Nexus was destroyed. We
eliminated it to keep our enemies
of taking advantage of it. But
there is another option. To use it,
I'll need your help.
FADE TO:
INT. NA'KHUL TIME CONDUIT FACILITY - TRANSMISSION CHAMBER -
STARDATE 2845.06
EXT. FEDERATION DEFENSE CORPS - STARDATE 3104.08
A large lab, filled with machinery. At it's center is a
transport, single, with various tubes and equipment attached
to it. Temporal agents work on the machinery with unusual
tools.
DANIELS walks toward the transporter with ADMIRAL AIKEN
following him.
DANIELS
(to Admiral Aiken)
This is an experimental
time-transport system. No portal or
temporal rift needed. We can beam
people any in time. Well, in theory
we can.
ADMIRAL AIKEN
Am I supposed to be impressed by
this machine.
DANIELS
No. You are to understand it.
ADMIRAL AIKEN
Does it work?
DANIELS
We haven't been able to complete
it. You see, we lack the most
important element.
ADMIRAL AIKEN
what's that?
DANIELS
Decalythium.
ADMIRAL AIKEN
What? That is unstable, you don't
plan to...
DANIELS
it's the only choice we have. We
need that chemical, and Star Fleet
has an abundant supply of it.
ADMIRAL AIKEN
How do you know that?
DANIELS
I was once assigned to a starbase
in the Romulan neutral zone. Star
Fleet intercepted a freighter class
cruiser there, carrying the
element. We made contraband of it,
because your government felt it was
too dangerous for an unstable race,
like the Romulans, to posses it.
ADMIRAL AIKEN
That was fifteen years ago. What
makes you think we still have it?
DANIELS
€If there ever was a threat to
Earth, Star Fleet would need an
effective counter-strike. Am I
right?
ADMIRAL AIKEN
Yes, unfortunately. I'll get you
the decalythium, but it better be
worth it.
Both men stop in front of the transporter, a laborer is
kneeling next to it welding a panel on its stabilizing
mounts.
FADE TO:
EXT. KLINGON SPACE - STARDATE 2730.76
ALTAIR, a firy ball of gas, not quite star and yet not a
planet, a hybrid of the two. A wormhole opens in an
electrical swirling fury. A fleet of Na'khul starships face
the portal, all stopped. The flagship is magnificent,
shining-tough looking, it boldly leads this unholy armada.
ZOOM IN:
NA'KHUL FLAGSHIP:
The ship is extremely militaristic, weapons are mounted on
the walls. Two Na'khul pilots command the helm, another is
at tactical controls, plus more navigate the bridge
monitoring each station.
VOSK is standing behind the pilots, arms folded behind his
back, staring out into space with a HATEFUL,VENGEFUL look.
Realizing his iminant victory.
VOSK
Activate full warp. Stardate
2387.04. Full power to cloaking.
HELM
Initiating warp. Locking course.
Klingon Empire sector five-eighty.
VOSK
Take us in.
ZOOM OUT:
The flagship warps into the portal as the other ships
follow. The portal closes with a flash.
FADE TO:
INT. USS ENTERPRISE-E - MEDICAL BAY - STARDATE 2387.04
Worf is lying in a bed. His right arm and chest are
bandaged. Various star fleet doctors move around, treating
other Klingon survivors. Worf attempts to sit up, but his
back is severely injured.
DOCTOR CRUSHER walks over to him carrying s shot. She is
about to administer it into his neck. Worf grabs her arm
before she can inject it--
WORF
Beverly....
CRUSHER
What is it Worf?
WORF
I need to speak with Picard. It is
very urgent.
CRUSHER
You can't leave medical bay. I will
call for him. Just rest.
WORF
Thank you doctor. I normally would
not accept this level of care...but
I must put aside my traditions for
the better of crew.
CRUSHER
Your welcome Worf.
She walks over to the communications panel--BEEP--she
activates it--
CRUSHER
(into the communication panel)
Ambassador Picard to medical
bay...We have a patient with urgent
news.
PICARD(V.O)
I will be right there. Picard out.
CUT TO:
INT. USS ENTERPRISE-E - MEDICAL BAY
HISS--The turbo-lift, in need of oiling, screeches open.
Picard enters, looks around at the horrific scene, klingon
warriors-tough and ruthless-now lay in beds, bloody and
bandaged, most groaning in unimaginable pain. Doctors
struggle to treat them, each is close to death; except one,
a strong Klingon general, Worf, sitting upright in his bed
sipping Bajoran Tea. He looks up, and spots Picard, who has
halted, stunned.
WORF
Ambassador.
PICARD
It is good to see you again old
friend. It has been far too long.
He walks over to Worf's bed.
WORF
I see you are doing better. How do
you feel?
WORF
Fine, my arm aches and I am
partially paralyzed, but I am
alive.
PICARD
I was told you have information for
me?
WORF
Yes. This may seem odd, although
considering the events of the past
few weeks, I guess it will not be a
shock.
PICARD
What is it?
WORF
When we were attacked, there were
two vessels.
PICARD
Nero. And other Romulans?
WORF
Nero, yes. But the other ship was
different, odd.
PICARD
Odd how?
WORF
We detected gravimectric
distortions resonating from this
sector. We were on a research
mission to collect samples on a
dead star in the Regulan system
when we received the news.
PICARD
What news?
WORF
Our orbital station, of the Altair
star, was destroyed. We believed it
to be an attack by the Dominion.
PICARD
Because of the war. But I take it
wasn't Dominion.
WORF
No. It was a small ship. Heavily
weaponized. It opened some sort of
wormhole, and was engulfed by it.
We did not even have time to gain
sensor readings. It was gone.
PICARD
Then what?
WORF
We were hit by something. It
obliterated our fleet. We fired
back, disabling its cloaking
device.
PICARD
Nero?
WORF
His ship appeared. Then yours.
PICARD
But you sent us a distress an hour
before we arrived. You stated the
attack had already happened.
WORF
What? We sent no distress call.
Like I said it happened so fast, I
didn't have time to react.
DOCTOR CRUSHER enters through a door at the back of the room
carrying medical supplies. She sets them down onto a bed,
empty, and notices Picard.
CRUSHER
Is something wrong?
PICARD
What kind of medication are you
treating him with?
CRUSHER
Muscle relaxing serum. Why?
WORF
I am not hallucinating! That is how
it happened.
PICARD
Alright Mr. Worf. I believe you.
But now things have become more
complicated.
CRUSHER gives Picard a "HOLY SHIT" look.
PICARD
If you didn't alert us, then who did? And why?
