are known for their crazy burgers with
everything on them that you could
possibly imagine. The California burger
is my favorite They also have

Edison. The drinks are amazing and the

-Cooshs is about 20 minutes away from
campus and has relatively average
prices. The food is New Orleans style
and is super good. My favorite thing is
the biscuits and gravy which have a kick
and the beignets which are like a donut.

usually get the chicken hibachi with

College night. With your id you can get
chocolate fondue or cheese fondue for
$5!!!I used to go all the time and get a
side salad with chocolate and cheese
fondue. Double check and make sure
they still do it, though!

-Zoes is one of my favorites along with
Newks for a quick and really good lunch.
The prices are great and they give you
quite a bit of food. My favorite thing is
the chicken kabobs and they come with
rice, pita and a Greek salad. They also
have really good hummus. Make sure to
download the app

First Friday: The first Friday of the


month there is a festival in
Railroad Square which is a bunch
of little vintage shops, restaurants
and artsy places. They have food
trucks and all the stores stay open
later. At night there are also a
couple street performers that come
out!
Maclay Gardens: Maclay Gardens
is absolutely beautiful! They are
open from January through April
from 8-5pm and its $6 a car.
Garden entry is an additional $3.

Lake Ella: Lake Ella has little
shops surrounding it and big easy

snow balls is also around the lake.


There isnt a ton to do but its nice
to take a walk.
FSU reservation: FSU Res is
owned by Florida State and is free
for all students with your FSU ID.
They have a little beach on a lake
with kayaks, mini sail boats,
volleyball nets and tubes for free. If
you choose to go make sure to get
there early if you are wanting a
canoe or kayak because they go
quickly and youll have to wait for a
little while. Its about 20 minutes
from campus and you should bring
food
Florida Caverns: Its about a 1:30
minutes from campus and I would
go early. If you go with a big group
you may want to call ahead

Tallahassee Rock Gym: Rock
climbing gym that is fun! Call
ahead because they run different
specials

center. The lady is a little different


but really thorough and good about
prescribing medication. She is also
pretty quick. I go on the other side
of town to avoid the super long
lines on the college side of town.

Have a little extra money?


-I always went on Thomasville road
to go shopping. Thomasville Road
isnt too far and is where the actual
people besides college kids live in
Tally haha
-Majority of the shopping in Tally
besides the mall is boutiques. They
can be pretty expensive but are fun
to look at.
Lolli & the Bean
-Super cute and definitely my
favorite
Walter Green
-They have good sales and carry a
lot of different brands. Some things
can be pricey but is super cute!

FSU Health and Wellness: FSU
Wellness center is covered in your
tuition with the University. If you
can get an appointment online
then I would recommend going.
They do get very busy and
sometimes its hard to get in.

CVS Pharmacy: They have a clinic
in the pharmacy that I used to go
to if I couldnt get into the health

-A little higher end but really cute


clothes. The shoes are reasonably
priced and its right next to Walter
green and Francescas.
Cole Couture
-High end but the store is super
cute! Its fun to browse in and they
occasionally have pretty good
sales.
Hearth and Soul

-My absolute favorite store but its


very expensive. They carry Free
people and higher end brands but
the merchandising is incredible. My
mom loves to just browse there.
Divas and devils House of Style
-Really unique stuff and some of it
can be reasonable.
Narcissus
-They carry designer brands like
Tory Burch, Kate Spade and Lilly.
They also carry a lot of swimwear
and cocktail dresses as well as
evening gowns.
Sweet Blue
-Sweet Blue is a little further from
campus but has really cute
planners and random trinkets.

FSU Favorites:
-Strozier Library is where I always
studied. If you go online to the
library website you can rent free
study rooms with your student id.
-Mom & Pops is a food truck on
campus.
They
have
multiple
locations and the best hot dogs!
-Walking in front of Wescott
fountain in the mornings is
absolutely gorgeous
-The Ruby Diamond building is
behind wescott and where the
presidents office is. Its beautiful
on the inside so be sure to visit!
-The Health and Wellness center is
my favorite building on campus.
They
also
have
the
nicest
bathrooms haha

-Traditions parking garage is my


favorite garage to park in but its
really hard to find parking. Be sure
to register your car for parking with
the university and check the app
for capacity of the garages

Road trip:
Thomasville Georgia: You have to
go to Thomasville on a day trip! I
fell in love with this little town and
its only about 45 minutes away. You
can take Thomasville road straight
and youll run into the downtown.
Thomasville, Georgia is known for
The Big Oak which is a huge tree
that everyone takes pictures under.
They also have Jonahs which is a
restaurant with the best shrimp
and grits that Ive ever had. All of
the shops close early but its really
fun to walk around and escape
from Tallahassee for the day! There
is also a plantation when you are
coming into Thomasville on your
left that is really cool to see

Girls night:
Wine Loft: Great cheese boards
with local cheeses on it
Level 8 Lounge: located on top of
hotel duval Level 8 is really cool
to hang out at and look at the city
Painting with a Twist

Going out:
Brass Tap: more of a brewery with
food
Standard: my favorite bar has
good music and the atmosphere is
fun

Recess: located on top of college


town and has a really cool
atmosphere. 21+ for guys

-Great place for brunch on Sundays and


pretty good food They also have
happy hour on Fridays

Cantina: Taco Tuesdays!

-the strip is popular but I avoid it at


all costs haha its a lot like the pub
in Orlando with multiple bars. It can
be fun on certain nights

-The best place for sangria and great


food! Primetime is my go to for a good
dinner! I usually get the chicken and
waffles or the loaded buffalo mac and
cheese with a garnet and gold sangria

$20 so its a bit pricey but if you
are wanting a nice brunch then its
definitely worth it!

Hotels:
Staybridge Suites: My parents
like this hotel and it can be cheaper
than hotels right next to campus.
Its about 20 minutes but on a lake
and really nice.

Grocery Shopping:

Thomasville road I would go on the


other side of town. Publix near
campus runs out of things a lot and
is very crowded.
Stars Meat Market: Its owned by
an old man who is the butcher.
Everything is really cheap and good

Classes:
Hot Yoga Tallahassee: Awesome
hot yoga classes but make sure to
register ahead of time and get their
early. The classes are always full!
Journeys in Yoga: My favorite
yoga studio because they have
such great flow classes and your
first time is 5 or $10.

Random:
-The health and wellness center
has a gym that is nice and
available to all students. If the
Leach (the big gym) is crowded go
to the health and wellness. I
personally like it better!
-Every Wednesday in the fall is
considered market Wednesday
and they have booths set up in the
union with people selling things
and giving away free food, t-shirts
etc.
-Learn the FSU war Chant Its a
very important song haha

Tomato Land: On Thomasville


road and its good if you are
wanting to make food that day or
the next.

-FSU has their own circus and


theyre really good. You get into the
shows with your student id 2 times
a year so be on the lookout for
those dates.

Publix on the other side of


town: If you have time to get
groceries at the publix on

-Chegg and amazon are your best


friends when ordering textbooks

-sign up to be a student booster.


Its 25$ a year and it will put you in
a better ticket window for getting
student tickets during football
season.
-Download all the FSU apps.
Especially the my fsu because you
can map all your classes so you
dont get lost on your first day.

-The Busy Bee Gas station is the


best gas station ever haha It will be
your best friend when traveling to
and from Tally. Its exit 283 on 1-10!
They also have the best beef jerky
I get the cherry maple one haha
-Have fun! Im so happy for you
and FSU is a great place to be (I
know Im bias) but its true!
