I'm the Associate
Publisher for Wrox. I work
with all of our
acquisitions staff who
select the authors and
topics for our books.
Prior to this role, I was an
acquisitions editor
working mostly on
ASP.NET, JavaScript,
SharePoint, and a lot of
other fun topics. I'm lucky
to have worked with
some of the best
programmer authors in
the business. My
degrees are in Math (BA
and MA) and Physics

Heres some great analysis of more than 3,000,000 job postings for programmers from msgooroo.com. In it they
analyze the number of job postings and average salaries for everything from JavaScript and Java to Haskell and
Fortran. What are the results?
If you want many jobs to pick from, stick with Java, JavaScript, C#, C++, and C.
If you want to shoot for the highest salary and dont mind relatively few job choices, be great at Clojure and Haskell
If you are stuck in a Lisp or Fortran job, it may be time to learn something new
