Cite one example of a Republic Act related to the environment and discuss

I chose the Philippine Mining Act of 1995, Republic Act No. 7942 which is an act instituting a
new system of mineral resources exploration, development, utilization, and conservation. Its
main goal is to secure the environment and the communities within, by promoting rational
exploration, advancement, utilization and preservation of the environment with the combined
efforts of the government and private sectors. It is stated in this Act that all mineral resources in
public and private lands within the territory and exclusive economic zones of the Philippines, are
owned by the state, which means that our countrys primary responsibility is to protect what is
ours. This should be strongly implemented because with the Earths condition right now and the
global warming we are experiencing, it would use quite a lot of help. People who run mining
services or business should cooperate since they are contributing to the pain that the environment
is suffering right now, and the government can also make a move and intervene with their
business and take control and monitor if their activities abide by the agreement in this said Act.
In the end, if they insist on disobeying the law, certain sanctions would do the justice and if
money prevails, then the Earth is at stake.
