Step Up!

Getting Out Of Your Comfort Zone

(Matthew 22-33)
We are Christians!
By that fact alone, we are always called to STEP UP.
We should not remain stagnant, our lives should have changed the moment we received Christ in our
lives. We are no longer the same; we are now called for something BIG. We are being gathered and we
are being tested because we have more to offer.
We dont wake up every single day doing things over and over again. Its a routine life. Its boring.
Christians find something interesting and it involves even the hardships we face in life.
The greatest wall that hinders us from doing what are supposed to do is MEDIOCRITY. We are contented
of the fact that this is the only thing we can do. We are contented to contribute a little to our society,
to our community, to our school. We think we are limited by our failures, guilt, negative attitudes etc.
Mind you, we have a GOD who is bigger than anything we could ever imagine. Why should we limit
ourselves and stop taking risks? Being mediocre shouldnt be in our vocabulary. We should give GOD
the best. We should give the best we could to praise Him, the best way we could to help others, the best
way we could to help our society, our country.
We know that GOD is there, we go to mass on Sundays but when trials come, we forget about His
greatness. (Wala kwarta, wala gana, magmasakit galuya2, nahurt, depress depressan). We have a GOD
who is ready to help us. We have a GOD who is more than willing to give us what we need. But we have
to do one thing first; we have to TAKE THE RISK. We HAVE TO STEP OUT OF our COMFORT ZONE.
Jesus was waiting for Peter. If Peter didnt step out of the boat and touched the water, he couldnt have
walked on the water towards Jesus. Same is true with us, we can do miracles but the moment we see
something, we get distracted and the miracle loses its effect. Peter took the risk, he sank but lo and
behold, Jesus didnt let him die, Jesus was there.
Theres no reason to be afraid. Let us take the first step. Let us take some risks. We will slowly sink when
we are distracted. We will fall at times but remember Jesus is always there ready to help us, extending
his arms for us to walk on the water again.
So, as member of the youth, where do we start?
1.
2.
3.
4.

Be ACTIVE in school, in church, in communities or basically anywhere youre planted.

Be FAITHFUL in your work, in your relationship, studies and in your goal.
Be SENSITIVE to the needs of others, think of what you can do to help them.
Be READY FOR THE STORM trials will come in your family or in school but you shouldnt get
distracted, continue to focus on your faith

5. Be FULL of TRUST No matter what happens, trust in the Lord, you will be safe, you will reach
your goal, you will become successful.
Your talent and skills will only improve if you take the risk. Youll still be the same if you dont Step Up.
You wont grow if you do things over and over again. If you want to succeed in life, you need to take
your chances. But as Christians, taking these risks in life require us to trust in our GOD that He will give
us the Strength to move mountains, the Faith to conquer fear and the Grace to be closer to Him.
Together lets Step Up and together lets ask God expand our territories. Together we will pray the
Jabez.
Lord, bless me and enlarge my territory!
Let your hand be with me,
and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain. Amen
