Niobrara Lutheran Church Council


The Niobrara Lutheran Church Council meeting was held on May 5 at the parish hall with the
following members present: Matt Moody, Pastor Martha, Jim Scott, Wilton Johnson, Delberta
Peterson, Larry Meier, Valorie Zach and treasurer, Robert Olson.
Pastor Martha offered devotions.
The updated Calling Tree lists were distributed.
Robert Olson gave the treasurers report. motion was made to pay the bills, by Larry Meier,
seconded by Wilton Johnson. Motion carried.
Discussion was held concerning the yearly parochial report, which should be sent in to the Synod
office. Pastor Martha will look into this.
Robert Olson reported that he had sent in the registration fort hose attending Synod Assembly
and lodging at the AmericInn.
Property Committee reported that there is moisture in the southwest corner of the basement due
to a crack in the cement block, which needs to be cemented.
PAT Committee reported that an appraiser, Andrew White, looked at the parsonage and will send
a report. He and Drew Marshall, lawyer, will be attending the meeting on May 12.
Pastors Report was given.
Jim Scott said a letter had been sent out to inform members of the Congregational meeting to be
held on May 15 for the purpose of voting on whether to make necessary improvements to the
parsonage.
Discussed the Eileen Theirolf memorial. It was decided to send a letter regarding her wish to
remove the acoustic texturizing behind the altar. According to one of the original builders this
was done to improve acoustics and painting over it or removing it would adversely affect the
acoustics.
Held a brief discussion regarding options for Pastors insurance.
Jim Scott made the motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned.
The meeting closed with the Lords Prayer.
