No Manila boy Duterte to Govern from new seat of power

Summary:
The state media blueprint took an express way as it paves its way to Presidentelect Rodrigo Duterte who highlights to gradually change the circulation of power and
wealth which is centered in the capital. The president opts to build his own presidential
house in Panacan, Davao City. Despite the awaiting Malacaang as a presidential
house, Duterte said he is not sleeping there because it was haunted. He further stated
that he would take office both in Malacaang and in Davao where he serve as mayor for
over a couple of decades. He is up for a grueling travel schedule and his staff should
staff should be able to keep up, but Sen. Cayetano thought it would be unlikely for the
President-elect to shuttle back and forth to Manila and Davao. He added that Duterte is
teasing people with his statement and such will have a metamorphosis.
This is explained by Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano as one of the steps to federalism
which is meant as greater autonomy and moving out departments. It has been known
that one of the priorities of the president-elect to change from presidential to a federal
form of government. Andanar, a davao native, who had a meeting with Duterte,
governing from Davao showed how the president-elects commitment spur regional
economies.

Synthesis:
On a political perspective, this is a good sign because a gradual change in the
form of government system, as prioritized by President-elect Duterte, from democratic
to a federalism form of government, is at this time, could be better than sticking to the
traditional wherein the people themselves, especially those that belong in the lower
class had find it difficult to say that the country really is moving towards development.
With this type of political system, it allows the country to have more than one central
entity to have power. It is better since more localized forms of government get to take
control of its own local and regional issues. The local governments who are right in the
middle of the local society are better suited to deal with the true things that need to be
changed within every local area. Probably why Duterte wants to have a federal type of
government is because, aside from drugs, he is also fighting against corruption. On the
other hand, corruption could be inevitable but the President might just want to lessen
this by separating the power and not allowing one body of the government to hold all the
power over the country. This could be one advantage of federalism over a democratic
system, and could be one way to achieve change, as how Duterte envisions in his
administration.
With this type of government, surely it will have its impact on the economy of the
country. As we get to take a look on the economic point, this promotes or increase
economic growth and development. With this the local or regional areas functions
independently and will have its primary regulatory responsibility, with no barriers to trade

it gives wide chances and opportunities to people in the respective states for a better
living. With this, every local area or region are given the chance to make use of their
resources to lift their own state unlike in the democratic type of government wherein few
are given attention and development while the other region are left from stagnant and
non-developing.
As to the social aspect, this type of government allows people to feel even more
involved in the decisions and the everyday activities of the area where they belong. In
this sense, people will be much more proud and excited about their country as they get
to have a higher level of participation unlike in democracy where people have a large
say in what happens in the government in the entirety. With this, social policies will be
customized according to the needs of the people in the different local areas or regions.
With Dutertes plan to commute, this might have earned a lot of reaction from the people
since given the circumstances that he would have to travel on plane every day from
Manila to Davao and back, it entails danger, which also triggers fear to the people of
losing the leader.
