Our classroom motto

I am somebody! I was somebody
when I came. Ill be a better
somebody when I leave. I am
powerful and I am strong. I
deserve the education that I get
here. I have things to do, people to
impress, and places to go!

Communication
This year is going to be exciting! I
am sure that each and every
student will be successful this
coming school year and it is my
hope that each student will grow in
their learning. I will be sending
home a bi-weekly newsletter about
what is going on in our classroom.
The class webpage will also have the
newsletters on it as well as student
work. Also, each day the students
will bring home a behavior chart,
this tells you what I have seen that
day and has a place for your
comments and signature. This is be
returned each day.

A Few Things We
Will Need
We will need the following things
in order for our classroom to
be successful this school year.
1. 5 Composition Notebooks
2. Tissues
3. Dry Erase Markers
4. Hand Sanitizer
5. No. 2 Pencils
6. Glue Sticks
7. Copy Paper

Students will not have math or reading homework

every night. The only thing students must do each
night is get their behavior logged signed and complete spelling homework. If
the assigned homework and/or log is not returned than students will have
silent lunch until it is.

Classroom Tribes
Our classroom has two tribes. On the
first day, your child will be put into one
tribe at random. These tribes help build
community among the tribes, healthy
competition for behavior, and our end of
the year games. This is a great way to
connect with others that maybe wouldnt
connect with each other.

Clip Chart
On a personal level, each child
has a clip that will be on a clip
chart. If an individual is not on
task, they will clip down to a
warning, parent contact, and
finally office visit. If they are
being an awesome scholar, they
can clip up all the way to
#awesome scholar. They will earn
points for their tribe and at the
end of the month a behavior
celebration.

Brag Tags
You will hear students talk about
the brag tags they have gotten
for a behavior or
accomplishment in class. These
brag tags are given for
accomplishing a skill in learning
or scholar behavior. These tags
will be reported to you when
they earn them via a note
home. Celebrate with them!
These tags are a BIG deal.
