1. Republic Act no. 6956

2. House Bill 5101 also known as Anti-Underage Drinking Act of 2011
3. Republic Act No. 10586 - Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act of 2013
4. House Bill 5727 Sin Tax Bill

Reaction:
These bills and acts are passed in order to control the excessive alcohol intake in our
country. Republic Act No. 6956 is an act modifying the excise tax on distilled spirits, wines,
fermented liquor and cigarettes, amending for the purpose sections 138 (a) and (b), 139, 140 and
142 (c) and (d) of the national internal revenue code, as amended, House Bill 5101 also known
as Anti-Underage Drinking Act of 2011 is an act prohibiting the access of minors to alcohol and
penalizing establishments that furnish alcohol to minors, Republic Act No. 10586 also known as
Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act of 2013 is an act penalizing persons driving under the
influence of alcohol, dangerous drugs, and similar substances, and for other purposes, House
Bill 5727 also known as The Sin Tax Bill aims to restructure the existing taxes imposed on
alcohol and tobacco goods. These bills and acts have good reasons why we should support it and
take part of it. One is because it aims to promote health by discouraging vices and another is to
collect revenue for health care. We Filipinos love to drink occasionally and socially at parties,
fiestas, etc., but others think it's a fun hobby and it's a daily habit, but little do they know that
excessive alcohol consumption can lead your health at risk. It may lead to serious and deadly
complications such as anemia, cancer, cardiovascular dieases, nerve damage, any many more. I
think the passing and implementing of these bills is helpful in order to prevent long term
problems, but not all are doing his or her part it in so I think the best way to cut or prevent
alcohol intake is by starting with yourself. Some easy strategies to try are keeping track, setting
your goals, avoid triggers and learn how to say no, and you should always learn from the past.
It's never too late to make a change!
