VERBS

CONJUGATIONS

Subject-verb agreement is important in all languages. For example, in English we say

I am thirsty, not I is thirsty or I are thirsty. In Spanish, there are six different ways
to conjugate a verb, based on the subject.
yo
t
l/ella/Ud.
nosotros
vosotros
ellos/ellas/Uds.

I
you
he/she/sir
we
they/you plural (Spain)

I walk----->yo ando
you walk---->t andas
he walks---->l anda
we walk---->nosotros andamos
they walk---->vosotros andas
they/you plural (Latin America) they walk---->ellos andan

Spanish verbs always end in -ar, -er, or -ir (like andar, to walk). They are conjugated differently, depending on what ending they have. The -er and -ir endings are
treated the same.
AR
Hablar
yo-------------------->hablo
t-------------------->hablas
l/ella/Ud.--------->habla

ER/IR

t------------------->comes
l/ella/Ud.-------->comen

vosotros---------->comes
ellos/ellas/Uds.-->comen

Now you try!
