Use correct Personal Protective Equipment that is in good condition
Use non-conducting ladders when working with or near electrical installations
Keep a safe distance (10kV, 1150mm; 70kV, 1750mm) from live high voltage
conductors
Always keep one hand in your pocket when near powered line-connection or
high voltage system
Check no accessible parts have been shorted to a hot wire or live point
Station an observer at the entry who can keep watch and call for help in an
emergency

DO NOT
Undertake any electrical work if you are not qualied
Use metal ladders, wire reinforced side rail wooden ladders, metal scaffolds or
metal work platforms
Wear any metal objects such as rings, jewellery, watches
Work alone
Attempt repair work when you are tired
