CO2-level in atmosphere has been tested before entry and clearance has
been given
Presence of physical hazards is known
Work area has been isolated or procedures followed to protect workers
from substances entering the space
Rescue procedures and mechanisms are in place

DO

Use correct Personal Protective Equipment that is in good condition

Continue to test the atmosphere whilst in the conned space
Work in pairs
Station an observer at the entry who can keep watch and call for help in an
emergency
Only use tools that are certied for use in conned spaces
Leash all employees entering the conned space when visual contact is not
possible

DO NOT
Enter the conned space to help a person in trouble unless your are trained
and certied
Smoke in the conned space
Use lter masks
Place gas and oxygen cylinders in the conned space
Use equipment/devices which can cause sparks
