Subject verb agreement : a singular subject demands for singular verb and plural

subject demands for plural verb.


1. Everybody, every one, some body are always singular subject and demands for
singular verb.
2. Verb accompanied by pronouns such as all ,some will be determined by weather
the pronoun is referring to countable or non countable noun.
Countable nouns take plural verb, non countable nouns take singular verb.
3. Phrases such as together with , along with , as well as joins two subjects but
they does not demand for plural verb.
4. In formal writing when ever either , neither are used then they follow only
singular verb, though there are multiple subjects.
5. When either or neither is used as correlative conjunction then the subject which is
close to verb determines the form of the verb.
