My name is Gina. I study at P. Tacchi Venturi
School in Italy. On a school day, I get up at 7.00. I go
to school in our car with my mum. School starts at
8.15. I study maths, science, Italian, history,
geography, art, technology, sport, computers, music
and English. School finishes at 1.25, but I dont
always go home. Sometimes Ive got piano lessons at
school. After school, I do homework. Later I have
dinner, and then I often watch TV. I usually go to bed
at 10.45.
Im Devon from India. I get up very early every

Hi Dylan,
England is great! Yesterday, I went with my family
to a famous castle Windsor Castle. Its 900 years
old and its one of the homes of the Queen of

Can you say smorgasbord?


A smorgasbord is a special type of meal from
Sweden. In a traditional Swedish smorgasbord,
theres a long table with bowls and plates, and
theyve all got different types of food. You walk
next to the table and choose food. Does it look
good? Then have some, and dont hurry. You
should enjoy your meal slowly. Take some food,
sit down and eat it. Then take a new plate and
have some more food. Theres no limit!
First, you can have cold fish and seafood. Next,
you can have cold meat. There are usually small
meatballs and cold ham. After that, there is hot

and vegetables. There are usually different types

Do you like science fiction? Then you should read


a book by the great science fiction writer Isaac
Asimov.
Isaac Asimov was born in Russia in 1920. His
family moved to America in 1923. He could read
English at age five and he wrote his first story at
age 11. At 21, he wrote a story called Nightfall.
Science fiction fans and critics said it was a great
story, and Asimov became a popular and famous
writer.
Asimov wrote stories about the future. He often
wrote about robots. They were usually good
robots and they helped people. He sometimes
wrote about the stars and life on other planets. In
his books, people travelled to other planets, but
Asimov didnt like going on aeroplanes. He only
flew two times in his life!
You can find Isaac Asimovs name on every list
of great science fiction writers. In his life, he
wrote 500 books and won many prizes. He died in
1992, but people still read and love his stories

The hippopotamus is a huge animal. Its bigger


than a horse or a cow. Some hippopotamuses
weigh 4,500 kilograms, or more! There are only
two bigger land animals elephants and white
rhinoceroses.
The hippopotamus sometimes called a hippo
lives near lakes or rivers in Africa and stays in the
water all day. Hippos dont like the hot African
sun, so they stay happy and cool in the water. You
can often see a hippos ears, eyes and nose above
the water. In the evening, hippos leave their lake or

kilometres to find food. Hippos are herbivores
they dont eat meat.
Do you think a big, fat hippo can run fast? Well, it
