Pathology Report
:Gross
Single oval skin tissue piece measured 1x1 cm , 0.1cm in thickness. Surface
showed single brownish hairy polyp measured 0.9x0.9 cm, located less than 0.1 cm
from least side margin and 0.2 cm to least deep margin. Cut section was tan,
rubbery.
Margins sampled perpendicular by inking, multisected and totally submitted .

Microscopic:
Sections examined from the specimen received revealed hyperplastic epidermal
covering with fibrotic dermis showing groups of nevus cells with regular vesicular
nuclei with superficial layers showing melanin pigments. There is regular
maturation of the nevus cells cells in deeper layers .
No evidence of junctional activity or dysplastic changes.
Surgical margins are free.
No evidence of malignancy in sections examined.

Diagnosis:
Back skin lesion , Skin biopsy , BENIGN MELANOCYTIC DERMAL NEVUS ,
FREE SURGICAL MARGINS .
