2. In the 5th generation, there were 1024 peppers produced. 3. My graph shows that with each year, the population grows by a factor of 4. The 1st generation was 4 seeds, the 2nd was therefore 16 seeds, the 3rd was 64 seeds, etc This shows that the population will continue to grow by a factor of four until a limiting factor afects the population. 4. List of environmental factors: a. Water supply b. Area to grow within (habitable space) c. Nutrients within area of growth (food) d. Predation from other populations e. Disease due to crowding 5. If my population of apples was subjected a lack of water, the numbers would steady out and some plants would be lost. This would also occur with a lack in nutrients. The population would not necessarily begin to decrease, but it would be unable to continue to grow. On the other hand, if my population was subjected to disease from overcrowding, it may afect the number of plants I have as some may die. It could also drastically decrease the population depending on the disease and its ability to afect other plants or their productivity of seeds. The lack of habitable space would contribute to disease, and would limit the ability of the population to grow. My last factor, that of predation from other populations/species would reduce the number of plants (if the seeds were destroyed in the process) and therefore my population would start to decline, but wouldnt necessarily go extinct.
