Observation Journal

Finished Size

Tools
Metal ruler
Craft knife
Cutting mat or protective cutting surface
Bone folder
Paste, glue, or glue stick
Small paste brush (if using paste or glue)
Waxed paper
Book press or heavy stack of books

Materials
Chip board or thick card stock: 2 pieces, cut to 3 " 5 "
Text weight paper: 10 pieces, cut to 6 " 5 "
Adhesive label: 1 label, 2 " 1"

Instructions

1. Trim your papers to size with a metal ruler and craft knife. If you like,
use a corner rounder to round the corners of the pages and the fore
edges of each cover.

2. Fold each paper in half left to right. Burnish.


3. Apply glue to the back of one folded paper in a " strip along the open
edge. Adhere to the back of a second folded paper, aligning the open
edges. Repeat until all 10 papers are attached to one another. Wrap in
waxed paper and press until dry.
4. Apply glue to the entire back side of the first page of the accordion.
Center the page within the back side of the front cover. Smooth.
5. Apply glue to the last page of the accordion. Center the page within the
back side of the back cover. Smooth. Press flat until dry.
6. Attach the label at the center of the front cover.
