BOF V FORGING GUIDE
By: arela89
Ver. 1.3
Well, what's forging about in this game? BOF Iv ("May it's name be blessed
(Ursula)") has this little "mini-game, curiosity, or as you want to call it.
This information is a bit spoiled (I'll put this **** between spoils),
so reading is over your own responsability, however, I'm not going to
reveal any crucial fact of the game (or will try to do not).
MENU:
1- How to forge?
2- What do you need?
3- Where can you find it?
3- Forged Armors
4- Forging logic
5- Item Description
6- Final Stuff
1- How to forge?
The mechanic to forge is very easy so I don't think about you at a loss
about how to forge but, anyway, I'm going to put it. **By the chapter of
the Wind dragon after Cray rescure**, you will be able to return to
Mt. Glom, and ther you can talk to the forger, and he will do armor
depending on what you give to him. He will ONLY do armors and that armors
will be ONLY for Ernshin, so this is like "Ershin's shop", since she can't
get any equipment on shops or like places, but stealing monsters or
opening boxes. So, if you want to forge just go to the ? point by the left
of Mt. Glom. (Note: Not corroborated, but forging can make Game
Points to go down)
2- What do you need?
You will find by the world seven diferent materials that can be forged.
I've divided them in two classes, the Normal materials and the
Element materials. They are:
Normal materials: Glass Shard, Iron Scraps, Bent Screw.
Element materials Old Tire(earth), Dirty Filter(wind), Burnt Plug(fire),
Rusty Pipe(Water).
The Normal materials will give non-elemental armor, and can be found in the
East, early in the game (not so early the Bent Screw, though, but
considerably early).
The Element materials can be found a bit late and can be found easily in the
west continent, so you will have to wait a bit to have them at full
disposition. These materials behave the same that it's element so, the can
mix and have opposites, so, for example:
Old Tire(earth) -opposite-> Dirty Filter(wind)
Old Tire(earth) -mixes-> Burnt Plug(fire) ; Rusty Pipe (water)

And so on. Here I call the opposites the Anti-EM, to short... right?
3- Where can you find it?
Glass Shard: Some can be found digging south of Sarai, and after that,
you can get it from the Krabby's at the islands that conect the continents.
Iron Scraps: Some can be found digging south of Sarai, and after that,
you can get it from the Bots in Shincon (southwest of Chek).
Bent Screw: Some can be found digging south of Sarai, and after that,
you can get it from the Bots in Shincon (southwest of Chek).
Old Tire: Use an earth element on a Morph (West continent, by Fou-Lu's tomb)
and obtain it (stealed or dropped).
Dirty Filter: Use a wind element on a Morph (West continent, by Fou-Lu's tomb)
and obtain it (stealed or dropped).
Burnt Plug: Use a fire element on a Morph (West continent, by Fou-Lu's tomb)
and obtain it (stealed or dropped).
Rusty Pipe: Use a water element on a Morph (West continent, by Fou-Lu's tomb)
and obtain it (stealed or dropped).
4- Forged Armors:
Now there is what will you obtain depending of what do you mix, so there are
three boxes. The first one is the "serial box" and these are three of
the same material. The second is the "Mixed box" so here will be two of the
same and one different. Here PAY ATTENTION: The order of the facts doesn't
change the result, so this isn't order-dependant, but material-dependant, ok?.
The third box is the box where everything is different and it's called
the "Combo box". (Note: I put the boxes names and they hasn't any relevancy
in the game but in this guide, yes?)
Serial box:
Glass Shard + Glass Shard + Glass Shard = Psychometer
Iron Scraps + Iron Scraps + Iron Scraps = Mithril Rig
Bent Screw + Bent Screw + Bent Screw = Lightning
Old Tire + Old Tire + Old Tire = Earth Rig
Dirty Filter + Dirty Filter + Dirty Filter = Whirlwind
Burnt Plug + Burnt Plug + Burnt Plug = Fire Rig
Rusty Pipe + Rusty Pipe + Rusty Pipe = Water Rig
Mixed box:
Glass Shard + Glass Shard + Anything = Spirit Armor
Iron Scraps + Iron Scraps + Anything = Heavy Armor
Bent Screw + Bent Screw + Anything = Light Armor
Old Tire + Old Tire + Normal material = Earth Armor
Old Tire + Old Tire + Dirty Filter = Stout Mail
Old Tire + Old Tire + Burnt Plug = Gravedigger
Old Tire + Old Tire + Rusty Pipe = Maelstrom
Dirty Filter + Dirty Filter + Normal material = Wind Armor
Dirty Filter + Dirty Filter + Old Tire = Stout Mail
Dirty Filter + Dirty Filter + Burnt Plug = Booster
Dirty Filter + Dirty Filter + Rusty Pipe = Panzer
Burnt Plug + Burnt Plug + Normal material = Flame Armor
Burnt Plug + Burnt Plug + Old Tire = Gravedigger
Burnt Plug + Burnt Plug + Dirty Filter = Booster
Burnt Plug + Burnt Plug + Rusty Pipe = Stout Mail
Rusty Pipe + Rusty Pipe + Normal material = Hydro Armor
Rusty Pipe + Rusty Pipe + Old Tire = Maelstrom

Rusty Pipe + Rusty Pipe + Dirty Filter = Panzer

Rusty Pipe + Rusty Pipe + Burnt Plug = Stout Mail
Combo box:
Anything + Element material + Anti-EM = Stout Mail
Normal material + Element material + Chain-EM = Mixed box armor
Glass Shard + Iron Scraps + Bent Screw = Stout Mail
Glass Shard + Iron Scarps + Element material = Defender
Glass Shard + Bent Screw + Element material = QuickSilver
Iron Scraps + Bent Screw + Element material = Orihalcyon
5- Forging logic:
So, what's this of logic about. Well, it's the explanation of that
messy stuff before (specially the Combo box). So in the serial box
you will get 7 diferent armors depending of what material you choose.
Personally, I like the best the Iron Scraps serial, since it gives
the almost best armor for Ernshin, the Mithril Rig. All the other
stuff is not so useful (In my opinion, hasn't to be yours
since you and me play RPG's in different way, ok?)
The second box gives three non-elemental armor with speed-wisdom bonuses,
and also gives the mixed armors. The mixed armors have the particularity
that can counterattack with a Lvl.1 combo, (That could be (IS) very useful
using the Red Cape) This can't off course (not sure) be chained with other
combo, since it's an inmediatly response to a physical attack. The combo
obtained depends of the chain made, so, if you put Earth+Fire you will get
the Eruption combo. That can be made using two Burnt Plugs and an
Old Tire, or viceversa (using two Old Tires and a Burnt Plug).
If you mix with the Anti-EM you'll get the plain
Stout Mail (not bad, just PLAIN).
The third box is a bit more messy. In this case you'll get armors
with speed-wisdom buffs, that will be casted at the start of the battle
ALWAYS. This armors can be more usefull than their little sisters in the
Combo Box (Once again, it's my opinion). This armors are made with
Normal materials and an Elemental material (any of them is fine).
If you combine the three Normal materials you'll get, once again,
the Stout Mail AND if you combine three diferent Elemental materials,
you will ONCE AGAIN, get the Stout mail. Now, here is the tricky part:
If you combine a Normal material with a combo of two Element material
you'll get the corresponding mixed armor, so for example:
Dirty Filter + Dirty Filter + Rusty Pipe = Panzer
Rusty Pipe + Rusty Pipe + Dirty Filter = Panzer
That's ok, now:
Glass Shard + Dirty Filter + Rusty Pipe = Panzer
Iron Scraps + Dirty Filter + Rusty Pipe = Panzer
Bent Screw + Dirty Filter + Rusty Pipe = Panzer
Got it?
6- Item Description:
This is what you will get and it's characteristics.
Even if it's not very complete, I supose it'll

be useful if you are searching for something especific.
