Coercive-No , The NGO not being a governmental agencies dont


possess the power to force the textile manufacturers to ban the
Sumangli Scheme. Some of them are urging Tamil Nadu government to
scrap this scheme, while others are urging the brands and retailers to
adhere to international labour standards and local labor laws and
accept a broad definition of supply chain responsibility
Utilitarian- No, The NGOs are not in any position to provide material
benefit to the company, wherein the loss can happen only if they are
forced to adhere to the labor laws and international labor standards.
Normative- Yes, With the NGOs already urging government and
International brands to take action against these malpractices, the
company is already losing its reputation.

Individual- No, At Individual level the NGOs does not have any legal
claim as it does not work as an individual and hence cant claim any
stake at individual level
Organizational- Yes, Since the NGO works as an organization for the
welfare of the
Societal- Yes, NGOs play a critical role towards the welfare of the
society and hence possess legal claim at societal level for the welfare
of these poor girls.

Time Sensitivity- Yes, The NGOs are critically urging the government to
take step against these malpractices as soon as possible.
Criticality- Yes, The NGOs are not taking this issue lightly and are
critical of stopping these malpractices urgently. The sentiments
created by these NGOs can force the government into banning these
schemes which can result in losses for the company.
