This course explores the complex relationships between gender, sexuality, and the United States legal system. Topics will include interracial and equal marriage in historical perspectiv e; reproductive rights and abortion law; Title I X and campus sexual assault; anti-trans* bathroom bills; the prison abolition mov ement; as well as popculture representations of gender, sexuality, and the law . No prior knowledge of legal concepts is necessary.
