Numbers are marked by an arithmetical value in lieu of digit and sum that are used for

calculating. The first time I learn numbers is by car plates. At the age of 7, I was exposed to
debit notes and invoices, excited to see the clerk in the bookstore doing her transactions.
Since then, I have desired to serve organisations to restructure their financial reporting and
analyse fiscal data, keeping track of what happens to the money that involves the power of
accounting.
Accounting has given me a clearer picture of how important a pound to be spent wisely as it
can change peoples lives. Starting on how to do a double entry book-keeping, it provides
step by step to finally draw the financial statements. That is how my life works out; when I
encounter challenges I solve it one by one to finally have a solution for them. Having a
planner ensures me to be organised and well planned. Keeping all the receipts helps me to
keep and record flows of money in a neat, accurate way, keeping track on all my financial status.
Having a basic knowledge of accountancy during high school, I prepare subscription
accounts for my societies in school including the recording of life membership. I also have
been awarded a Level 2 Certificate in Book-keeping and Accounts by LCCI. Since then, I
have had a great passion towards accounting. I explore more on accounting during A Levels,
understand the purposes, concepts and techniques of accounting and develop the application
of those techniques. Besides, Economics also enhances my interest as it explains how
different kinds of markets make profits or incur losses which actually demonstrate the figures
in accounting. Mathematics and Statistics have trained me on calculations and forecast
results. It intrigues me how to critically analyse the problem before finding the solution with
the possible routes to get the final answer.
Being involved in Money Smart Project has made me realised how important it is to make
financial decisions, especially in cultivating habit of saving. I have also acquired knowledge
and skills on how to plan and manage money for my life. Moreover, I have attended the
ASEAN Conference on Accounting Education which has made me be aware on the current issues, and

widened my view in Accounting. Participating in Smart Ranger Club had taught me to

manage scarce resources wisely as continuing to spend on solid waste management could
drive locals council to financial ruin. It makes me aware that it is important to consider the
implications of accounting decisions in the social context of the community, environment and
workforce.
Being a cashier and sales person during my semester break has given me a great experience
as it helps to enhance my accounting skills especially in preparing statement of cash flow of
the retail shop, ensuring the money balanced at the end of the accounting period. By
valuating the stock, I learnt that stock checking is really important for the company as it
affects the profit and statement of financial position.
By leading various projects, I am able to react positively and motivate others . The projects budget
has always been my concern. I would make some researches and a good budget, achieving a great
outcome. Being a multitasker, I manage to work under stressful conditions, use time wisely and solve
problems as they arise. It moulds me to face the future career of being an accountant. Furthermore,
public speaking and debates that I enjoyed doing have enhanced the skills of communication,

presentation, analysis and evaluation of accounting information, enables me to explain complex

situations in simpler terms. This experience will absolutely give the impact to transfers over to the
professional world.

Getting involved in theatre that has been my passion is a kind of canvas for me to express
what I feel, helping me to shape a character for myself. Furthermore, it helps me to unlock
my potential that I have in me despite increasing my confidence level in myself. Besides, it
moulds me to be a disciplined person which is much needed in being an accountant later.
Over the years, participating in Girl Guides is a learning experience where I established my
own sense of independence. Being awarded a Gold Specialist Badge in WAGGS Global
Action Theme Badge curriculum, anticipates what I might do next to change the world and
influence people to take decisions. It also opens my eyes to be a much more aware person on
what is happening in the world.
It is my aspiration to be a future leader in any industry serving for my country with
not only high accounting skills but also a great personality that can contribute back to the
community. By pursuing Accounting in UK, which has a great education system and a
welcoming environment would help me to accomplish my dream to be an all rounded
