I started this class not sure of my writing abilities and anguish to start any assignments

given to me. My reservation about beginning my writing assignments was one of my many
weaknesses followed by my inability to translate the creative ideas i formed in my head to the
vacancy of the paper. The hardest weakness to overcome would be my procrastination and time
usage in which I greatly improved upon over the course. This class was very help full to me in
how I changed from the beginning stages with my first essay to my last.
Creation of an essay can be divided up into different stages, first is the drafting stages
where all your ideas and thoughts can be compiled onto one paper, second is the revision stage
where the draft is revised and consisted into a neatly organized essay, and the last stage is the
editing stage where all the final touches are made before completion. In my earlier writings I
would combine all steps into one mess because I was usually short on time due to my
procrastination. Towards the of this unit I declined my procrastination allowing for more time to
be spent on each essay thus enabling me to separate each stage of the writing process out making
for a well thought out essay. In my early essays written in this class my word choice did not vary
much and involved a generally small vocabulary like in my first essay when I said. If we as the
reader listen to what the monster has to say we can obtain valuable knowledge and another
perspective of looking at a situation (Beelman Composition1). As we peer into the making of
the quote we can observe simple wording and potential grammar errors. My skills have
strengthened when I later wrote an annotated bibliography on the effects of a new drug captured
by National Geographic. I announced, The camera maneuvers to the woman's decapitated arm
where the narcotics she had been injecting physically ate away her epidermal layers and exposed
large quantities of skeletal tissue (Beelman annotated bibliography). The wording in my quote
shows an immense vocabulary obtained through the English course. A Lot of the passages from
the book monsters were all inspiring but the one that stood out the most was Klosterman's My
Zombie, Myself: Why Modern Life feels Rather Undead. Klosterman's conclusion had the most
insight to his essay when he states Im pretty confident about my ability to deal with a zombie
apocalypse. I feel strangely informed about what to do in this kind of scenario (Klosterman
quoted a friend 43 from Beelman Composition 2). I will carry this idea with me into the future
because it gives hope with the idea that we can overcome our fears and our problems in our lives
just by understanding them and learning more about what makes our fears something we are
afraid of.
