Learn Arabic Naturally

. .

Hello and welcome. Today Id like to talk about rule nr.3 again,
which, coincidentally, is my favorite topic to talk about

Since a lot of people have trouble finding the time and it might just be
the first thing that someone says in order to justify not being able to
learn a language

, ,

That is: not having enough time, not finding the time, not having the
free time to learn that language

,
,
But as busy as your day might be and as many things you might have
to do every day, even if you have kids to look after

2 http://www.learnarabicnaturally.com

There are still ways to find time, free up some time, or to somehow
integrate learning that language or learning Arabic into your life

Now of course Im going to talk only about the things that I know,
Ive tried, and that have worked really well with me

:

Because obviously I cant talk about things I havent tried out myself
and you can simply be like: How do you even know it works? How
can you talk about something you know nothing about

So Im just going to stick to and talk about what I know and what Ive
actually experimented with

,

Everything Im going to talk about, and all the methods, didnt come
from me. I didnt come up with them or anything

3 http://www.learnarabicnaturally.com

. , ,

I learned them from those who teach the other languages that I
learned, naturally. I learned a lot of important things from them, but at
the same time I discovered and found out a lot of things on my own

,
,
And in these videos Im trying to combine both and share them with
you; talking to you about the things I learned from them and from
which I benefited a lot, and the things that Im finding out on my own

, ,

And that Im finding very useful and helpful. Im picking out the
things that can help you, the things Im positive work, and Im sharing
them with you/Im talking to you about them

,
. :
Theres a term in Italian and French that doesnt exist in Arabic (as far
as I know), which if I want to translate literally would come out
something like: Dead times (in English its downtime)

4 http://www.learnarabicnaturally.com

,
,

Theyre basically times in our day during which were doing
something, but our brains arent that focused on it or they dont need
to put all their energy towards it, and they dont need to be completely
focused on it

,

And they can be carrying out this task all while putting a small part of
their energy towards something else, or use a small part of their
energy to focus on something else

. :

A simple example would be when youre driving a car. Its true that
you concentrate while driving and that you constantly pay attention to
the side view mirrors and the rear-view mirror

. .
" 3 "
Youre paying attention. Youre concentrating on driving. At the same
time you could connect your phone, through Bluetooth or whatever, to
your cars MP3 player

5 http://www.learnarabicnaturally.com

.
, ,

And youd listen to a podcast or anything in that language. Usually,
when we get in a car, we either play music or listen to the radio. And
if you drive and youve done that, you know that you can drive a car
and focus on the news simultaneously

.
, ,

Or drive all while enjoying the song youre listening to. So heres
what you could do, like I mentioned earlier: instead of listening to
music or the radio, you could play something in that language
something you can understand since thats the most important thing

.

And listen to it while you drive. I used to do that back when I used to
live in Dubai and I had to commute between home and college,
between Dubai and Sharjah, and to cover a distance of around 25
kilometers

6 http://www.learnarabicnaturally.com

. , ,
..

I had a 20 minute journey there and 20 back, maybe even more, I cant
really remember. Every time while driving there.I remember
playing something in German while driving there and playing
something in Italian while driving back home

, , ,
, . , ,

Every time I got in the car, wherever I was headed, to the
supermarket, to the mall, to pick up someone, to drop off someone, I
always used to play them, listen to them, and just benefit from this
time, which if I hadnt taken advantage of

.
, , ,
would have been wasted. And if we add up all those moments in our
day that are wasted this way, they might add up to an hour, an hour
and a half, or 2 hours

7 http://www.learnarabicnaturally.com

,
, . ,

And it would be such a shame to waste all that time without taking
advantage of it. And the best thing about it is that during that time,
which otherwise would have been just wasted, we can learn a
language. We can learn a language that could change our lives and
make us discover a lot of new things

Just by taking advantage of those 30 or 20 minutes in the car

, :
.
Another way: When youre home washing, cleaning, putting away
your clothes, or ironing your clothes. You can simply put your phone,
or whatever device you use, in your pocket

put your earphones in, and do those things while listening to them
(recordings,podcasts, etc.)

, .

So this video was 33 minutes long before I sped it up. As you can see,
this is an example of how you can exploit/take advantage of those
moments

8 http://www.learnarabicnaturally.com

.

Like Im definitely not one hundred percent focused on cleaning
during those 33 minutes, and so I took advantage of that. I was
listening to podcasts in French and I was able to get an extra 33
minutes of listening to that language into my life and I benefited from
it

. :

Another way: If you play sports, if you go out running, or if you go to
the gym and exercise there

- ,3 ,
,

You can play those things audio files, mp3, and all that on your
phone, iPod, or any device you use, and you can listen to them there
while using the machines and working out

.
. . :

Thats another way that would really help you and something that I
also used to do. Another thing you can do: When youre simply
walking around. That simple. For example, youre walking on the
street heading somewhere

9 http://www.learnarabicnaturally.com

.
. . .

Or if you drive to work, school, or college. If you take the bus for
example. If you take a cab. It probably wouldnt be that safe on a
bicycle, but I think you got what I mean

,

During all those moments where youre not really paying attention to
what youre doing or if you have free time during your day, you can
simply plan 30 minutes or an hour just for listening to things in that
language

.
And be 100% focused on it. Of course thats another possibility if you
dont have a very busy day

.
.

Another thing you can try is making that language part of your
everyday life. Now I dont really know how you can apply this to
Arabic. You probably have a better idea than me because youre
probably learning Arabic so that you can integrate it into your
everyday life

10 http://www.learnarabicnaturally.com

:
. ,

Nevertheless you can try giving this a shot: You can try doing in
Arabic what you normally do in your first or second language. Let me
give you an example from how I used to do that

. .
.

About a month ago I started applying for a job for the first time. You
have to send your application files and prepare for the interview. And
I had never done that before and of course I wanted to learn how. I
could have, with all ease, looked it up on Google in English, read it in
English, and understood it immediately

. :

Heres what I used to do: I used to look them up in Italian and learn
them in Italian. I was learning new words in Italian at the same time as
I was using/practicing and improving it

,
, , ,

And Im also learning about the things that Im going to have to do
that day or during that period of time, which is applying for a job,
what I have to write, what I have to avoid, what I should expect

11 http://www.learnarabicnaturally.com

And all that

.
.

And I also used to split it into parts. For example: I used to look up
what I had to write/include in the application in Italian. I used to look
up how youre supposed to speak and behave during the interview, in
person, in French

,
And then whatever remains Id look up in German

:
.

A couple of other things you can try out: .this might not really apply
much to movies because if its, for example, a comedy movie, the
jokes might not translate well. But, for example, theres a certain
English movie you want to watch

12 http://www.learnarabicnaturally.com

: .
,

You can watch it dubbed in the language youre learning. Another
thing that I do a lot (like a lot a lot): American tv shows that Ive
watched before, sometimes when Im bored, I want to eat, or I just
have 30 minutes and I want to do something to relax

.

Id watch them dubbed in German, and I do this every day and it has
helped and is helping me tremendously.

. :
, . , , .

Another way: Songs. This is also one of the best ways since youd be
enjoying it at the same time. Youd find a couple of songs you like
you like the melody, the lyrics, whatever point is, you liked the song

,

Or a collection of songs you liked in that language. You can download
them and start listening to them instead of the usual songs you listen
to

13 http://www.learnarabicnaturally.com

: ,
,

Heres a good example: Theres a book that you read about or heard
of and you want to read it. Youre really interested in the topic of that
book and it just happens that that book is available in the language
youre learning

Let me give you an example

, ,
.

The guy who teaches Italian naturally recommended that we read this
book and he showed it to us in English. So, I took the title of the book
in English and typed it into Google and checked if there was a
German copy

And there indeed was. So I immediately went down to the bookstore

and bought it in German and now Im reading it in German

14 http://www.learnarabicnaturally.com

, ,
,
The books topic interests me a lot, it caught my attention, I want to
read it, and its available in German, a language that Im currently
learning

. :
, . ,

And thats really the whole idea: You learn something new while
learning a language. So when Im reading this book Im reading
something I like and something I want to learn about. And not only
am I learning about it, but Im also learning the language at the same
time

, , .
:
,
And by now its become a habit. The second I read or hear about a
book and it catches my eye, the first thing I do is check on Google
whether or not its available in one of the languages Im learning or in
a certain language

,
If it is, I immediately go and buy it in that language or I just order it
from Amazon

15 http://www.learnarabicnaturally.com

So there are really a lot of ways you can either make time to learn a
language or integrate a language into your lives

.

Now how can you apply that to Arabic? There are more than 20 ways
to download these YouTube videos. You could go to Google and
download a program that converts them

" .........." , " "

,"...." "" "" .

Or you can simply write pwn right before the Y in YouTube in
the URL and itll redirect you to a page where you can download this
video in any format youd like

,4 , 3
Mp3, Mp4, whichever you want

.
3
Ill put an annotation somewhere here as an example to show you
how, but yeah, you can download it as an mp3 file and you can then
put it on your phone and listen to it during those downtimes

16 http://www.learnarabicnaturally.com

You can really benefit from this and in the long run youre going to be
surprised how much this will have helped you and how much you will
have improved

.
,
Now Im sure there are many other ways to go about doing this. I
might have forgot to mention one or two because theyre not coming
to mind at the moment

, :
, ,

Like for example: if you know someone, with whom you
communicate every day, who happens to know that language, you can
start conversing in that language even if you cant really speak it that
well

.
. ,
Or if you cant get your ideas across yet. You can nevertheless say the
things that you do know in that language. And thats just something
that just came to mind

17 http://www.learnarabicnaturally.com

. ,

,
So now Id like you to tell us what methods you know that we can
benefit/learn from! How do you find the time to learn the language
youre learning? What methods do you use? And let us know down
below in the comments section

.
So, thats all for this video. Thank you for watching and Ill see you in
the next videos
