Goals and Objectives

Goal 1: To learn the five areas that Rock Odysseys guides in to be

able to efficiently guide clients in them.
o Objective 1: Run the canyons and routes before taking
clients through that specific area.
o Objective 2: Research entry points and exit points of each

area all five areas I guide in.

Goal 2: To gain experience with guiding clients through a canyon
in a safe and controlled environment.
o Objective 1: Shadow Stephen on three trips prior to taking
clients out alone to observe safety precautions.
o Objective 2: Research safety techniques for building

anchors for canyoneering and rock climbing.

Goal 3: To learn about the local environment to keep clients
educated about conservation.
o Objective 1: Research crypto biotic soil and why it is
beneficial to ecosystems.
o Objective 2: Write a 2-page reflection on the Leave No
Trace ethics and why they are important to the areas
where Rock Odysseys guide.
