Suggested Grading Rubric for Simulation

(as part of the Final Exam, the whole class will be tasked to simulate a
meeting adopting the parliamentary rules and procedures carried out by the
class)

Excellent 5 points
Shows a thorough understanding of the procedure - Addresses all aspects
of the process intelligently and articulately
Shows an ability to analyze. evaluate, compare, and/or contrast issues and
events during the deliberation
Richly supports his/her motions with relevant facts, examples, and details
Consistently demonstrating a logical and clear plan of organization of ideas
Uses correct and proper motions with the given situation coherently

Very Good 4 points


Shows a clear understanding of the procedure - Addresses all aspects of
the process
Shows an ability to analyze, evaluate, compare, and/or contrast issues and
events during the deliberation
Includes relevant facts, examples. and details, but may not support all
aspects of the task evenly
Demonstrating a logical and clear plan of organization
Uses correct and proper motions with the given situation reasonably

Good - 3 points

Presents a general understanding of the procedure

Addresses most aspects of the process or addresses all aspects in a


limited way

Shows an ability to analyze or evaluate issues and events during the


deliberation, but not in any depth

Uses proper motions with the given situation

OK 2 points

Attempts to address the procedure, but uses vague and/or somewhat


inaccurate information

Shows a limited understanding of the procedure; omits concrete


examples; uses weak details

Uses poorly organized motions: uses few facts, examples & details;
includes information that contains inaccuracies

Poor or Weak 1 points

Develops a faulty motion in approaching the presiding officer

Lacks analysis or evaluation of the issues and events raised during the
deliberation

Uses little or no accurate or relevant facts, details, or examples to


support his motion

Weak presentation of motions during the procedure

Unsatisfactory 0
Fails to participate
